I’ve got a large double with a rubber matting floor, mid rise scissor lift, multi-fuel stove with back boiler and 4 radiators. Racking along the walls and a bench on the back wall. Lots of sockets and strip lights and a double glazed UPVC side door.
It’s ace.

Seeing young James walk in was a tough part for me also, knowing how close they were. James was his favourite topic of conversation.
I thought all the Stead’s were amazing on the day.

Memories of Steve Stead (aka E30Topless)
Steve was laid to rest yesterday in Hull and a few of us were able to attend and pay our respects and those of the wider ‘Zone’ community who knew him. We were asked to celebrate his life yesterday, and this thread is intended for us all to do so. One of my favourite memories was when I met Steve fo...

Re: Everyone is using the same lies in their adverts
we’re in a period where flybynight street car traders think they can bag a victim and make a fortune. It’ll take a few years for the cars to be unaffordable for them to buy in the first place so we’ll just have to put up with it for now. My favourite lie is the mileage lie, “mileage genuine”. You’ll...

E30garage from Norway are now replicating inner panels to help us keep them on the road, and as above, a whole new industry of aftermarket parts are about and that sector is growing, I’ve just had copies made of a Hartge H35 bodykit and I’m offering them as retail, simply because you can’t buy them ...

Re: 51k Alpina C2 anyone?
I’m not justifying the price, or commenting on whether it’s genuine or not but there is something special about an Alpina car/conversion. My C2.5 is a great car to drive, newer Alpinas are the same, all great cars.
I reckon sorted C2 2.7s will hit £50k in the next 5 years. Get in now if you can.

Re: Damaged Convertible Roof
You can’t refurb holes where there shouldn’t be any. You need a replacement hood, primarily so you can see out of the back of it. A decent used hood in a frame is £400 + and hard to find. Fitting is straightforward. A replacement hood (no frame) will be about £800 + fitted.

You may have to call circa 50 times to get through and if others have more important questions, you'll ha...

It would appear that £123 was sent to you, do you dispute this Colin ? HartgeH27 I'm not sure why you are saying this when it is not what the OP has stated. Inventing this is really irresponsible, especially for a moderator. Perhaps if you read the feedback thread I started, you'd see my point abou...

This guy wanted a Scorpion backbox and as well as not paying when he said he had, he spun me some tosh about sending the money to another account after I made an error with my PayPal address, and provided no evidence of it.

I use talcum powder to track the source of a leak if it’s not clear, make sure it’s dry first though !

Also check whether the stitching in the roof above is in tact, missing threads = open holes = water ingress.

I've got a nephew at 17 who wants to be a race car engineer and he claimed my Alpina the first time he saw it, when he was about 11. He wept with joy standing in front of the Le Man winning 935 Moby Dick when I took him to the Porsche Museum at 13. There's hope. But across the board, very little unf...

It'd cost about £1000 to put that right with a new hood, battery and sprayed centre caps.
That tells you that the owner is skint and will accept less.

Re: 325iX vs 320i/325i ABS
The IX has a primitive traction control system, there are two sensors located behind the front strut turrets toward the windscreen side. I’m sure the system works with the ABS. Worth bearing in mind.
I’ve had my IX thrashing around in deep snow and it’s activated the ABS under light braking.

Do you know if it's possible to remove the drivers door card with the door closed? If so, I could disconnect the motor and get the door open because I don't see how I'm going to access that kickpanel effectively without! Thanks for all the advice so far. Recalling the last time I did this, you'll b...

Re: Central locking deadlocked
I could be wrong but I don’t believe an alarm can set the deadlocks (turn key fully left). I’d be trying to use the key in the drivers door to deadlock and then remove the deadlock and see if that opens them. I believe only the drivers door lock activated the deadlocks. If it’s not deadlocked, you s...
