Re: Un-blocking Sunroof drains.
The water seemed to be coming in below the stainless steel surrounds. I have tightened the screws, they were very loose, kind of hoping. the strength of rain we have been having didn't allow the water to drain sufficiently overflowing under the stainless surround....I know I am clutching at straws, ...

Re: Un-blocking Sunroof drains.
Unless you regularly park with the sunroof open, I fail to see how a sunroof drain can ever get blocked. You can run something like TV coaxial cable or BenHar's strimmer line up through them, but I fear the word 'rust' will eventually figure in this thread. Was afraid of that. The outer edge of the...

Re: HT leads Resistance
As long as they work, then they're fine, but your results show what a poor quality item Magnecor leads are compared with the OE item. They appear to vary in resistance according to length, indicating that they are probably cored with what is essentially burnt string, instead of being solid copper c...

Re: Rear damper top mount bottom washer
Does that screw into the top of the protection tube 5? If that is the case then I already have that part! I have destroyed two top mounts from GSF one after a couple of months and this one after only a couple of weeks?!! Surely I didn't get two faulty top mounts?

Rear damper top mount bottom washer
I have read a post which mentions a bottom washer on the rear damper shock absorber top mount, the top mount has recently failed, my car is missing this bottom washer, is it the same shape and size as the top washer?

Re: Clutch change on 325i help stuck!
Remove the gearbox crossmember, and let the rear of the box tilt downwards to improve access to the bolts. Remove the two large bolts that are opposite to each other, at the sides, and replace them with two long bolts of the same diameter and thread that have had their heads cut off. These will kee...

Re: Clutch change on 325i help stuck!
Have you removed the centre bearing mount? You have to undo the centre bearing mount, the prop will not collapse enough to allow removal with it still in place. The bellhousing bolts need a long set of extensions to get to. I find it easier to access them if I support the cross member with a trolle...

I was just considering this in the bath, I did remove it but then refitted, I found it easier to adjust the sleeve with it bolted, I will remove it again now that the sleeve has been adjusted, thank you very much.daimlerman wrote:Have you removed the centre bearing mount?

I am attempting to change the clutch on my 325i, really struggling to slide the prop shaft off! I have slid back as far as it can but won't clear completely, the locking sleeve has been loosened and doesn't look like the shaft can slide back any further, have started loosening the bolts on the bell ...
