Ye its true, they really are a no good bunch of humps,Its just crazy the way it works. Im gonna have to do a bit of research on whats the best route, better safe than sorry. Re: M52 insurance woes!

So what you're saying is, you're doing something illegal and people won't let you do it? I want to be as legal and straight as I can be with insurance but I refuse to pay the so called "road tax" of 1200 Laws aren't pick-and-mix. If you want the big toys, then cough up like everyone else has to. I ...

Re: M52 insurance woes!

I never declared the engine swap to DVLA when I put my M52 into the touring, then I stacked it and had plenty of plod looking over the car at the scene of the crash and all they were bothered about was whether the mods were declared to my insurer (which they were). Obviously, in Ireland you have a ...

pushing €2400, just finishing now, its really ALL about preperation in my opinion. That includes a very good engine that I got to drive for a month, and a few small cock ups. maybe that seems expensive to some, but any of the good ones Ive seen seem expensive

M52 insurance woes!

Ive just completed an m52 conversion, the reason for doing this originally was so that I could have a fast big engined e30 while paying the original 318is road tax. The annual irish road tax for the 318 is 550, which is bad enough, but the annual road tax for a 2.8 litre engine is....a whopping 1200...

By binning it, do you mean just remove all the hoses an blank off any ports/holes? Or I's there more to it, any negative effects to getting rid of it?

flywheel skimming with no balancing?

Just wondering if theres many out there that have got the flywheel lightned on a lathe, and just used it without balancing it and the crank, I've heard of a few over here in IRL, but just wanted to get a bit of feedback from here, as if it "malfunctions" its a lot of time and money down the cr@pper....

328i exhaust?

Im doing an M52 conversion into a 1990 e30. I have a full system from a 328i coupe with a scorpion back box. Is there much work to be done to the system to fit onto the E30?, excluding the manifolds, or does it fit underneath the E30.

Thanks, Josh.
