Ye its true, they really are a no good bunch of humps,Its just crazy the way it works. Im gonna have to do a bit of research on whats the best route, better safe than sorry. Its the inconsistency of it that gets me. I was insured on a 525 sport when i was 19, for a year and a half, now I'm 23, and t...

Re: M52 insurance woes!
So what you're saying is, you're doing something illegal and people won't let you do it? I want to be as legal and straight as I can be with insurance but I refuse to pay the so called "road tax" of 1200 Laws aren't pick-and-mix. If you want the big toys, then cough up like everyone else has to. I ...

Re: M52 insurance woes!
I never declared the engine swap to DVLA when I put my M52 into the touring, then I stacked it and had plenty of plod looking over the car at the scene of the crash and all they were bothered about was whether the mods were declared to my insurer (which they were). Obviously, in Ireland you have a ...

M52 insurance woes!
Ive just completed an m52 conversion, the reason for doing this originally was so that I could have a fast big engined e30 while paying the original 318is road tax. The annual irish road tax for the 318 is 550, which is bad enough, but the annual road tax for a 2.8 litre engine is....a whopping 1200...

In the middle of doing this job now, unfortunately with the lump already in. Was just looking for a bit of advice on the subject of throttle cables, Does the cable, once clipped into the bulkead, need to be clipped to anything along the way from the intake, or have people just left it loose? should ...

Help needed please! M52 question
Almost have the engine in the car, its an m52b28 with b28 manifold. Under the inlet manifold there are two ports on my car, one has the brown temp sensor and one has the 328i temp sender. My question is this, I have the return coolant pipe coming from the throttle, but with no port in the block.I re...

Dipstick tube/oil seperator?
Sorry if this is a repost, i'v tried the search option but cant figure it out properly. Im using an M50 sump on my M52, I have both M50 and M52 dipstick tubes, I know Im supposed to use the M50 dipstick tube, but what do I do about the oil seperator, or should this be incorperated into the M50 tube?...

flywheel skimming with no balancing?
Just wondering if theres many out there that have got the flywheel lightned on a lathe, and just used it without balancing it and the crank, I've heard of a few over here in IRL, but just wanted to get a bit of feedback from here, as if it "malfunctions" its a lot of time and money down the cr@pper....

328i exhaust?
Im doing an M52 conversion into a 1990 e30. I have a full system from a 328i coupe with a scorpion back box. Is there much work to be done to the system to fit onto the E30?, excluding the manifolds, or does it fit underneath the E30.
Thanks, Josh.
