I've started to get mayo on my oil cap on my 320 cab :cry: It's using water and its gone all milky! so i assume this is surely the headgasket? My friend with a mk2 golf said he has similar symptons and it turned out to be the oil cooler failing, could this the case? What sort of price am i looking a...

Thermostat Housing removal...

Hi, I've got an '89 320 m20 and i need to replace the thermostat housing as one of the pipes have broken off :( I've got the housing loose, all the bolts out...however it won't come off as it hits the fuel rail, have i got to remove the manifold and fuel rail to remove it?! Forgot to say that the other good thing about the SD1 V8 is that its an alluminium block and actually weighs less than the standard cast 1800cc fitted now!

yeah i know but with v8's its more about torque that overall bhp, it will have twice the *bang* than the 4 pot fitted currently. For example a 4600cc v8 Standard Engine Fully balanced, high torque cam only puts out 220 bhp but 280 lbs/ft. With a ported/polished head and cam i should get 180-190bhp h...

I only started going on trackdays this year and i'm doing my 5th next month so its highly addictive! My first bit of advice is take it easy and don't rush into going quick - sometimes this can be hard when quicker more experienced drivers are on the track but you just need to ignore them- at the end...

I've noticed quite a few cars having problems at donington with the noise limit :( I remember seeing one guy using his socks to reduce his induction noise!! Last time i went this guy with an elise was to noisy because of his exhaust system and resorted to using a a red bull can and black insulation ...

I'd NEVER take my sport on the track when its done! Come to think about it, id never have taken my iS or my dolphin grey 325 (pretend SE) on a track either... quality solid cars shouldnt be tracked unless you have money to burn... in which case, you dont drive an E30 as a daily.. you drive a ferrar...

Giles the way round it is to have tubular manifolds that fit nice and snug to the engine, so it saves you cutting the inner wings. But they still suggest putting vents on the inner wings to allow the heat to escape. I've just priced up a set of mild steel tubular manifolds & join pipes at Ԛ£230...

My cabs an auto and i can't fault it, its great for just cruising around in, I find the petrol economy pretty good to as i don't tend to race around everywhere in an auto!!

But saying this i do have have 2 other cars that are manuals but if i only had 1 car it would have to be a manual........
