My friend with a mk2 golf said he has similar symptons and it turned out to be the oil cooler failing, could this the case? What sort of price am i looking a...

Well i can't use the mg at all at the m...

yeah i know but with v8's its more about torque that overall bhp, it will have twice the *bang* than the 4 pot fitted currently. For example a 4600cc v8 Standard Engine Fully balanced, high torque cam only puts out 220 bhp but 280 lbs/ft. With a ported/polished head and cam i should get 180-190bhp h...

I bought it with the intention to use it for trackdays and its proved to be a cracking little car, i've got the handling pretty much sorted using lowered springs, uprated shock absorbers, front and rear anti rollbar etc. But the only thing its really lacking is top end speed on the straights which i...

I only started going on trackdays this year and i'm doing my 5th next month so its highly addictive! My first bit of advice is take it easy and don't rush into going quick - sometimes this can be hard when quicker more experienced drivers are on the track but you just need to ignore them- at the end...

I've noticed quite a few cars having problems at donington with the noise limit :( I remember seeing one guy using his socks to reduce his induction noise!! Last time i went this guy with an elise was to noisy because of his exhaust system and resorted to using a a red bull can and black insulation ...

I'd NEVER take my sport on the track when its done! Come to think about it, id never have taken my iS or my dolphin grey 325 (pretend SE) on a track either... quality solid cars shouldnt be tracked unless you have money to burn... in which case, you dont drive an E30 as a daily.. you drive a ferrar...

I've booked up, i'll be in the mg though - I wasn't planning to do another trackday until i did the V8 convesion but i couldn't resist at that price as its an excellent price for an open day at Donny. I use my MGB Quite regular for trackdays did my last one Thursday at Silverstone :D Like some other people have said its not about red lining it in every gear as it's not a race. It's all about mastering the track and finding your cars limits. Providing your car is well maintained you should have no...

Giles the way round it is to have tubular manifolds that fit nice and snug to the engine, so it saves you cutting the inner wings. But they still suggest putting vents on the inner wings to allow the heat to escape. I've just priced up a set of mild steel tubular manifolds & join pipes at Ԛ£230...

I have to agree Elises are very quick round the track if driven properly. I went on a trackday jointly organised by an MG club and Lotus club and there was some new MGZS 180's(v6) on the track that are around 180bhp and quite high spec (uprated suspension as standard etc) and they could not touch th...
