fuel economy is terrible lately, all plugs are fouled the same and performance is very much decreased.

ok so what do i check on the sensor. oh and yeh i taped up the split in the hose and it made no differece hehe.

just been out again and it seems the longer i drive the worse it gets, swapped my plugs back but that didnt seem to help either. its running so rich its fouling the plugs in minutes, what causes over fuelling?

hmmm got e thinking about the air intake hose it is actually split right by the jubilee clip on the afm, could this be the problem i wonder, i have replaced afm so i`m pretty sure its not that, but as someone mentioned earlier in thread about plugs i did buy bosch super 4`s could these be a bad choi...

ths is really baffling me now put new plugs in sunday missfired all wy home, been to work and back today and didnt do it once. any ideas why it would be intermittent.

ok so as you can guess my 318i is missfiring , but here is the strange thing its overfuelling and blacking the plugs so i clean them and it settles again but today i went and bought 4 new plugs and it has started missfiring worse than ever, does anyone have any idea why it would be worse with new pl...

mine was doing very similar turned out mine as the hose from the icv to the airbox was split, soon as i changed it no more over revving, not saying it is but worth a look took me a month to figure this out.

mine is a 318i not is i made mistake when registering lol, as for this engine i dunno mileage yet, i have been offered a engine from a 320i how much work would be involved in dropping this in place of my 1.8i?

hmmm, my engine just died, mines a 318i, how easy would it be to transplant your motor into it? am having trouble findind as a replacement 1.8i engine.

i have a 318i timing belt chewed about 8 teeth couple months ago, ew beltand timed up and its fine lol guess i was just lucky.

it is very tidy few little bits of surface rust nothing major. doesnt seem to like being in drive when stopped at lights though starts to bounce a bit lol.
