Possibly. Check the connection plug in the diff. This has a tendency to corrode and screw things up.

You can replace the plug (and recommended length of ~12" of wire) from a headlight plug which you can probably source relatively easily.

Mine went a few months ago.. started as a rumble.. then a high-pitched squeal... the bearing was taken out in multiple pieces (not by choice).

Took a few hours to replace mine.

Never (IMO) replace just one part of the clutch.. always do the kit (3 parts).

Have you made sure (by tightening anyway) that the nut is actually tight? My gauge was flickering about a while ago. I seemed to get nothing on it when I tried to tighten it with a small ratchet, but must have as it's not messed me about since. Just a thought

It's just some stuff from a fabric shop. Sort of half suede half velvet look to it. I guess any shop will have stuff like it. About 25 quid. I think if you lacquer the lights after, they come out shiny?? I might give this a go. Spray them well enough and there's no need to lacquer, IMO. Looks that way. My old touring seemed to have plugs put in the rear floor area where perhaps one once resided and I removed one from an old C-plate 325i too (which I still have here, if you're looking for one.. drop me a PM
