Q: Diff case

I asked a lots of people and they just confused me :) I was told that the medium/big case diffs are those with diagonaly places screws for filing and draining oil and then again I was told that 3,25 diffs came only in medium/big case and now i'm confused. I have 3.25 and 3.91 and they look the same ...

Re: E39 m5. Will it run?

Ecu and ews have to be from the same car along with the key.

As for the clocks.. not sure, you might start it...but it would be smart to know if it's all ok (warning lamps etc...)

Re: 5 Speed Vs. 6 Speed

The problems I've heard of are second and third gear synchronous and we've had a one gearbox that locked up in third gear during drift run.

Also I've heard that some had problems with Reverse gear.

Re: 5 Speed Vs. 6 Speed

It all comes down to what purpose you're using your car. If it's a dailydriver then you should consider 6 speed and longer diff, for more ride comfort. But if it's a driftcar then 6 speed isn't the best option since it is prone to defects and if you have inappropriate diff you might end up with unfo...

Probably Oxy sensor, or maf/lmm. Anything else would show other simptoms unless the ecu is in the service/emergency mode.

There are plenty of build threads in this forum section, just look a bit harder. Booster relocation is quite an straight forward job, things you should worry are like exhaust, radiator, electrical wiring, position of the engine (alternator hitting the chassis rail) etc etc... You have my build threa...

If you got an e36 manifold you can fit it with minor adjustment :) I cut out about 2 3cm out of the bottom part of the exhaust and welded it back with slightly different angle :)

Re: Thinking of fittng an M42?

I've changed the cluster and now it's all working. Temp gauge, fuel gauge tacho all, all I've got is a minor problem with twitching of the gauges, probalby just lose ground somewhere.

So facts to note m10 cluster will not work on m40/42 engine :)

I've changed the black to brown one, it took me like 3 hours and tones of nerves and it still refuses to work. Is it possible because I have inst. cluster that was originaly from m10 engine?

btw the black one is two pin and brown single pin

Ok it's like this. What I have and what I don't have I don't know. Re: Electric fan

Sure it can be done. Temperature sensor is needed, and as close as you can get it to the engine better it is. Wiring is simple, you just need to use relay and thick enough cables or else you risk fire in engine bay :) I'm thinking that the best place to put a tem. sensor would be either thermostat h...

Re: V8 conversion to an E30 325i

You can make ones by yourself if you're willing to invest 3 to 4 hours more. I did my mounts in 4 hours, with no problems at all. I took 5mm steel sheet, cut out two plates, one to fit the engine, and the other to fit the rubber mount, then i drilled out the holes, mounted them both, found some piec...

Re: BMW E30 M-Tech cabrio, V8 swap.

I'm afraid you'll have to take everything appart. Maby you have damaged o-rings on the hydraulic tensioner during the assembly. And if oil leaks, there is not enough pressure, and the chain is not tensioned correctly.....

my 5cents worth thought :D
