Re: The price of welding
I know a great fabricator in Northamptonshire who specialises in car restoration work. He charges £250 per day but gets a lot more done in a day than most people can so works out cost effective to get it done properly

What's it worth please?
Back in 2008 I bought a 1991 318is shell. The car was basically complete minus front lower valance lip spoiler and the cylinder head was missing. My plan was to build a race car but as always other projects got in the way and the car has just sat gathering dust in the garage. I am having the garages...

Re: Wind / rain Deflectors, your thoughts please??
I always offer a money back guarantee on my products. If they work fine on mine but not on yours then it can only be down to bad fitting or a faulty window mech. If they arrive and they are problematic on mine then i wont sell them to you, simples.

I think they look bloody awful. 'period' or not. Will you be selling cb aerials, rear window louvres and stick on Garfields to match? ;) Each to their ownI suppose. Some poeple buy them because they think that they look cool. Others buy them becuase they understand the benefits of having fresh air ...

Re: Wind / rain Deflectors, your thoughts please??
Do hey affect the window shutting? I bought a set on ebay a while agoand the wat fit and stopped the windows from fully shutting. I'm rather inserested in them though. This can be an issue on the Cheaper Team Heko wind deflectors but mine have a superior fixing system so this problem is eliminated.

I thought that you were Joking but you would be surprised at the amount of enquiries that I get from concertible owners LOL. Can anyone recommend a good leather retrimmer?
Hi I just bought some sports leather front seats and as per usual the drivers bolster needs attention as the leather has tear in it. Can anyone recommend a good leather re trimmer in the Northamptonshire area? How much would you expect to pay to have the bolster retrimmed?

BE carefull here, dont be mistaken by the attractive looks. These cars handle like a barge compared to an E30. they were a widowmaker in their day. Good grip all the way until it breaks loose and then there is no containing the pendulum effect even if you opposite lock the 3.5 turns required!!

Hi , I am a trader and I am well aware of the law concerning this kind of thing. If he is VAT registered you have some rights. Most people do not realise this but as a trader you have to provide a 3 month warranty with any sale over (£1500) I think. Unless for example your invoice states that there ...

Re: I could not believe my luck
if it was going to do that it would have done it in the Central London traffic or when i hit 150 mph on the A1 on the way home. Of course I checked the oil and water before I left and both were in good clean order. the car had been serviced by BMW less than 2000 miles ago. It runs sweet as a nut and...

Re: best e30 for a 17yr olds first car ?
OK here is another tip for you that i learned about recently. My brother in law is 18 and has just passed his driving test. I gave hime a 1996 astra 1.4 LS that i had taken in part exchange. I considered it to be worth about £500. When he started to ring around for insurance, he was being quoted any...

Re:
My advice is to go your local motor factors and get some "Revite diesel". You put Revite it in your fuel tank when you have less than a quarter of a tank of diesel and it cleans all of your fuel system including your injectors. Your car will probably smoke a little at first but this is the junk comi...

It could take some time to conceive that way!! Anyway to answer your question, I have owned many E39s and IMHO if you get a good one they are one of the best cars on the road. They are certainly fantastic value for money at the moment and I can recommend the 530 sport or even the 530d Sport if you c...

Re: really sick of this e34 now, please help..
On a 4 wheel alignment you do not adjust the back wheels. All that happens is that you set the toe angle to the required figure then make sure that when the steering wheel is straight, the front wheels are in line with the rears. This will mean that when you are driving in a straight line, the car i...

Re: Write off? some advice please...
Sorry to hear that you had a bump! Looks pretty cosmetc to me but you do need to check for inner wing / suspension damage. If there is no inner wing damage it will most likely be a CAT D claim. Contrary to popular belief a CAT D claim on a car that is 15 years or older does not significantly affect ...

I would make it clearar to the insurance company that you do not have a current MOT as most insurance policies will not cover a vehicle that is not taxed and tested. It is one of their little get outs!
