As per title, trying to remove the sump plug on my 325i for an oil change and the bolt just keeps spinning around, who ever last did the servicing on this car must have been a right muppet, have just finished replacing the front brake calipers/disc and pads and the hex bolts that hold the disc to the...

Trying to purchase a "M" reg tourer, how much to pa
Trying to persuade an old friend to let me buy her m reg 318i tourer as she cant really afford to keep it properly and is using it as a cheap banger, got various problems (usual e30 stuff), paint work poor on roof and various scratches, engine seen better days.... I am trying to be honest with her a...

Have you been losing water from the radiator?, did you check the fluid level with the engine running and the gearbox properly warmed up before adding new fluid, what fluid did you use?

Re: Thinking about getting a touring
318i would be the most economical out of the choice of tourers we have in this country, £500 to whatever someone is prepared to pay for a 318i, the 316i is n't as bad as people think, I would buy on condition rather than engine choice.

Picked up some parts from him today, top bloke, goods as described, very helpful on the phone when I got lost!

cheers for the comments, must admit the eta engine has made me a fan of it, I love the lazy way it delivers it's grunt, great for just sitting back and wafting along, makes you wonder what BMW could do now if they revisited the original concept. Still chuckling to myself.... I bought a 1987 525e for £225 back in early october, it was mot'd until 16/04/10, thought I would run it until the mot was up and break it for the engine and sell the rest. When I picked it up I was shocked to find a nice original, well looked after car, missus fell in ...

I was wondering if they could be cut/ground off as from what I understand they were only used in production/shipping and they are by unfortunate design a bit of a rust trap, I have the same problem on my e30 and e28. Re: Using 1-2-3 on my Auto box...
@theram, drag racing cars use 1-2-3 etc as the gearbox can change quicker for them, the only problem like the other posts say is the extra pressure you put on the box reving it so high, my missus has a 316i auto, as you know when you have it in drive and floor it, it only rev's to 5000 before it cha...

Just put the carpet back in the missus tourer, once you have removed the seat's and trim, put back speaker grill's on, this will stop the carpet damaging your front speakers. The engine in your car is a M10, same as fitted to the e21 and e28 with minor upgrades, the manual from haynes that covers the early e30's would help you with quite alot of stuff to do with your car, bodywork, suspension, interior etc. If you want a manual to do with the engine/gearbox side of the ca...

Re: help with mpg of a 316i
My missus 316i auto tourer averages 30-35 mpg, 70 ltr fuel tank in a tourer, so say 15 gallons * 30 mpg = 450 miles, hmmn, fuel leak, short journeys ,stop/start driving in traffic?
