30 Years Old woo hoo

My bronzit 323 turns 30 this month.
Time for a big celebration as she is now eligible for Special Interest Plates - half price registration and insurance

Sadly have to surrender the original "BR 7776" plates that have been on the car since new.

Re: An expensive question?

Don't worry, the dealer will have a nice list for you , some of it may even need changing :) The obvious question is, why are you giving it to a BMW dealer ? :? These are all pretty straight forward jobs , but with dealer pricing and the "it needs a new one mate" mentality , has potential to cost y...

An expensive question?

Hi All My M20B23 soon goes to BMW for a cam belt replacement, associated cam seals and engine belts and a new sump. The engine is original, FSH, 250,000 kms. In light of the extent of the work to be done, is there any other preventative work worth considering at this time. Any suggestions appreciate...

Re: M3 Castor Bushes

M3 bushes now fitted and makes a nice improvement - particular higher speed / sweeping corners. Car feels more planted and steering more responsive.
Have noted that low speed (ie parking, etc) is slightly heavier. Is this normal?
Had no issue with tyres rubbing inner guards.

Re: DIY Pressure Bleeder

Parts for this would only amount to a few dollars but have looked at the Gunson kit and even shipped it is only a few dollars more. Might save the effort and buy a kit. The kits I found on Australian eBay were about $120 but this is probably overkill for my purposes.
Thanks for the advice guys

DIY Pressure Bleeder

Hi All, Need to bleed the dual servo brakes on my 2002 and have been told that a pressure bleeder is the only way to get a good result. Instead of shelling out $100+ on a bleeder I found this idea: http://faculty.ccp.edu/faculty/dreed/campingart/jettatech/bleeder/index.htm Anyone tried this or simil...

Having the bushes fitted tomorrow and wondering what is involved here:
You may also need to adjust the fit of the front plastic underpanel to stop the tyres catching on full lock as well
The car runs 16x7.5" wheels, lowered on Eibach Pro Kit

Re: Members from Australia

Parts are expensive here if you use BMW dealers, a little cheaper if you use independent suppliers and probably cheapest if you ship them in from the US (Pelican, etc). The exchange rate is good at present so this makes things even more palatable. Fill a container with (a) the car and (b) as many un...

VIN Decoder

Hi all,
Used this site:

http://bmwvin.com

to decode the VIN on my E30 and found option "S850A - additional export tank filling" listed.
Any ideas what this might be?

A pretty cool little application - I like the production date listing (3/10/83 in my case)

M3 Castor Bushes

Hi All, The chromie needs new castor bushes and I have read all about the benefits of M3 eccentric type. I can get a OEM pair for less that US$50 from Pelican. My local BMW Autohaus is going to fit them for me - any dramas to expect? Will they fit ALL e30s? Will I need a wheel alignment once fitted?...

It only just fits in the E34 - no chance of getting in my E30 (not that 2 door cars and child seats are very compatible.
That said, it is safe convenient (capsule clicks out and straight into the pram) and looks OK

Did you sort your mechanical ICV? Yes thanks Will. Reassembled and everything runs perfectly...win! Apparently most ...
