Value an E30
How do you go about valuing an E30? Is it just a matter of comparitive searches on E30's for sale? Buymycar.com offered £480 which was a bit cruel. She's a E30 cabbie 325i 100k on clock. Bodywork and interior v. good. Fully serviced etc. Hood needs replacing (might do that myself but not sure if cos...

Re: Engine cutting out
Well I've broken all the rules then. Battery has gone flat, and have attempted to start and failed on nearly flat battery.
I can probably check on it every two weeks/three weeks but it's so out of kilter at the moment I can't really rely on it running when I do check it out.

Engine cutting out
Don't know if anyone can help but here goes: I've got a '88 cabbie 325i. I recently had a Toad alarm installed and subsequently the battery ran flat (new battery). I removed the battery and recharged but I don't think it's holding it's charge (is this normal?). I've subsequently found when using the...

Suggestions for my replacment exhaust
On the weekend I rather unhappily reveresed over a small island which i couldn´t see out the back of the car, thus removing my exhaust pipe system. I haven´t really been brave enough to look at it properly, but a third is missing from the ´drive´home (which was very noisy at 12 a night) and upsettin...

Garage recommendation for alarm install in SE london
Hi all,
can anyone recommend a good (and resonable) garage to do an alarm install on my recently purchased cabby? I had a classic mini before this and used a local specialist so i would really like some advice on this one.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Front Windscreen Chrome Surround
Eureka! Not being one of great patience I tried to find the tool used to fit these seals. Mad hunt revealed that in the states it's called a lockstrip tool. Eventually found equivalent here which I have purchased, and shall probably offer once through with on the zone. ooh aah http://www.woolies-tri...

Re: Front Windscreen Chrome Surround
If anyone has any handy tips on this I would be gratful. Had a go last night and battled away. Does it slide in, and if it does how the hell do you do it? WD40 didn't work. Or is there a clever way of popping it on. The rubber seal around the window is fairly unforgiving and doesn't make pushing it ...

Re: Front Windscreen Chrome Surround
I now have said trim. Any ideas on changing it?
I haven't had a close look but it looks like it either slides in (which sounds like a pain) or pops in.
I'm going to tackle it now now, but if anyone could drop a handy tip (but not don't do it
I would be grateful)
Woo!

Can you still get hold of interior trim or do you need to go to breakers/meets etc.?
I need the cover that goes underneath the steering wheel shaft above the pedals.
Interesting moment when that came loose whilst driving. Interesting

E30 not firing up straight away
I've recently purchased my first E30 which I am pleased with, but I've noticed she doesn't fire up straight away, usually only after a few turns of the engine. Not being a mechanic but eager to learn could anyone suggest things I should check/try? The only thought I had was replacing the sparkies. A...

Front Windscreen Chrome Surround
I've recently bought my first E30 which I'm loving, but it needs a few bits and bobs to bring it to a top spec. Any ideas about the thin chrome surround on the windscreen that's under clear plastic? The one on mine has started to rust under the plastic so I would like to replace it. All comments wel...
