i currently own a fiat van, have had 3 fiat cars previous to an alfa 147, then the e30, and have very little complaints. obviously the odd thing will go wrong on them but nothing serious. i personally happen to love fiats and hate ford and vauxhall, so everyones opinions will obviously be different.
