Re: Gear linkage selector
The complete e36 m3 linkage will fit fine, Z3 1.9 shifter leaver is exactly the same as the standard m3 one so not worth doing. Z4 3.0l and z4m levers give a shorter throw but may need further mods so it wont touch the propshaft in a e30.

First of all make sure the garage who are doing the conversion for you know what they are doing! SOOOO many people have been burnt by garages in the past trying to do this swap. viewing a car they have swapped would be ideal. Then contact Danthe for the engine loom.

Re: Carbon airbox
The cheap Chinese ones are not worth even looking at, I've fitted a few Geoff steel ones to e36's and they do sound ok, but not like a csl!! As for power, the evo started with 309hp and came up to 325 with the air box and a remap. The b30 I done is running a h and h generic eBay chip and it's ok as ...

Re: 2.93 diff ??
IMO a 3.15 suits the m52/328 box better, I had a 2.93 slipper on my e36 touring and acceleration felt a little dull to say the least. I swapped that over with a 3.15 LSD and it improved acceleration a little with no real difference in cruising rpm's or fuel economy. If your set on a 2.93 a e36 LSD ...

Thinking about it...... A 3.15 might suit you needs a bit better anyway. I saw a dodgy seller trying to offload a torsen LSD in the for sale section

I know of a 2.93 LSD from a 325e that will be available if I can find him a 3.25 LSD. I have a 2.93 open diff from a e28 but as Dan said it won't swap over into your LSD.

Random rolling road figures won't really help you but,a customers s50b32 made 302 bhp with a complete Btb system. My own b30 made 284 bhp with a Btb manifold and cross pipe with a custom system.

There is no list as such because everybody has a different approach to the conversion, there are a few threads about that will give you the basics.

The exhaust does make the sound different but a m20 always sounds like an m20 if you know what I mean. I'm in the other camp with regards to looks, I think the m52 looks better in the bay and a s50 looks so "right" in a e30 engine bay

I've fitted e30 joints to evo arms before, getting the new joints in is child's play compared to removing the old ones! The press failed to help! Big hammers did not work either. I ended up grinding the bottom off and knocking the guts out and cutting through the side like you would on a diff bush.

I used to run 9x17's on the back of my car, it needed a very minor arch roll to clear 235/40/17 tyres. 8j on the front with 215/40/17 fitted fine.

I fooked my iS up with a engine swap and sold it for 8k, granted it was not your normal lash up but it does prove a good conversion can command good money.

I had 17s on my old turd and it drove fine, the myth comes from wobbly old Alpina reps fitted to cars with fooked suspension.

For clarity neither the Tps or the knock sensor codes came back again, I assume the Tps had been unplugged at some time and the knock sensor fault is a result of the misfire. Voltage read a steady 13.5 to 14 volts while being driven.
