INSTRUMENT CLUSTER PROBLEM
Has anyone got any ideas where I might be able to source an instrument cluster for my J reg 325I? Or has any one got any schematics on what parts to replace as my rev counter and mpg have packed up. Also it has affected my trip computer which is not working. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Replaced radio wiring harness and my radio still doesnt
TO GET YOU OUT OF TROUBLE YOU COULD JUST POWER UP STRAIGHT FROM THE BATTERY FOR BOTH MEMORY AND POWER FEEDS, BUT THIS WOULD MEAN THAT THE STEREO WOULD HAVE TO BE TURNED OF MANUALLY EVERY TIME YOU STOP THE ENGINE, NOT IDEALL IF YOU FORGET AS YOUD HAVE TO JUMP THE CAR THE NEXT DAY. SO THE IGNITION SWI...

Re: 325 M20 POOR IDLE, UNEVEN @ CONTINUOUS REVS INT CUTN OUT
TPS SEEMS OK, RESISTANCES FINE AND ADJUSTED CORRECTLY. TO BE HONEST I BUZZED MOST WIRES FROM THE ECU, ALTHOUGH IN THE BACK OF MY MIND I ALWAYS THOUGHT IT WAS THE ECU AGAIN, JUST HAD TO CHECK TO BE SURE IN MY OWN MIND. HAVE A SECOND HAND 173 ARRIVING TOMORROW COST 30 QUID, SO NOT BAD CONSIDERING. I'L...

Re: Intermittent noise from front drivers side wheel
Sounds like your going to need a new wheel bearing. Is it worse when its warm? Could be brake disc runout but less likely, as the noise changes on turns. Jack the vehicle up and see if there is any top th bottom movement in the bearing, if there is then theres wear in the bearing as there shouldnt b...

Re: 325 M20 POOR IDLE, UNEVEN @ CONTINUOUS REVS INT CUTN OUT
Loosing the injector signals from the ecu. Lambda sensor is working as on live data on scanner can see a nice fluctuation of voltage, also double checked at lambda sensor so no problem there. But to be honest i'll probably dump it. Wouldnt want to try someone elses just incase theres a fault on the ...

Re: Lights problem
Do your front side lights work? More than likely going to be the sidelight fuse. Could be you have dodgey wire blowing the fuse or could just be that it blew.

Re: Replaced radio wiring harness and my radio still doesnt
If all fuses are ok, then if you have a multimeter or test light then check that you have a constant live, an ignition live and an earth. The constant live does memory backup so wont stop the stereo working, but you must have a good live and earth. Earth is normally black on the iso, battery feed re...

Re: ABS fault
ps have a look to make sure all the abs slip rings are intake or even there, had that before where people have left them off or fitted incorrect parts with no rings. As regards the brake warning light probably loom fault or dodgy pad wear sensor. Once again if you have an open circuit at the sensor ...

Re: ABS fault
Definately sounds like a sensor. Check the resistances with a multimeter at the sensor multipplug. You may find an open circuit if so replace. If not go on to millivolts and rotate the wheel you shoul find a nice gradual rise. If not then replace the sensor. If all ok then it could be a break in the...

Re: 325 M20 POOR IDLE, UNEVEN @ CONTINUOUS REVS INT CUTN OUT
Well finally got to the bottom of it. Went and borrowed a snap-on scanner and plugged it in, came up with an undoccumented code, so plugged my old unit back in and that came up with control unit fault, so on the grounds that both units do exactly the same I can only assume that I need an ecu. Checke...

Re: 325 M20 POOR IDLE, UNEVEN @ CONTINUOUS REVS INT CUTN OUT
Thanks all for your help. Have the 380 ecu, i'll try the wiring and other stuff first, if nothing comes up i'll source a 173. Just trying to get motivated after a heavy night out, but a lovely day, so a strong coffee and off i'll go. I'll keep you all informed. Thanks.
