In my opinion, you've got that the wrong way around. . . E30's will cruise happily at 3 figure speeds, and are far more refined than you might expect. With a bit of cash behind me I'd buy a decent one, strip the parts into labelled boxes, acid dip, galvanise, repsray the shell, doors, boot, bonnet,...

Thanks for the link- every website has its trusted bodyshop/specialist. Who is the one of choice on here? I'm in Sheffield, so would be nice if it wasn't too far away!

Would I be better off getting the best shell I can get for say- £1k or should I start by buying an excellent well cared for example, for say £5k+?
