Re: e30 quick ratio steering kt
There's no kit available, fit an E46 330i clubsport rack, 2.9 turns lock to lock and is a faster ratio than the 1.9L Z3 rack Do e46 racks fit in as easily as e36 racks? Nobody here in the states ever fits e46 racks, but I see it mentioned a lot here. I don't think the RHD/LHD would make a differenc...

Re: Rebuild motor = New rockers?
They break with repeated high RPM use. M20 Race cars and track cars break rockers all the time, my car included.e30topless wrote:your worrying too much !
IMO the rockers only break if clearances are adjusted wrongly or the car is thrashed ! if there's no wear on the lobe them leave them be

Re: Rebuild motor = New rockers?
Def replace the rockers, they break all the time as a result of fatigue, requiring removal of the head.
Supposedly the design was revised some time in the mid 90s to increase the fatigue life.
Try to get a new set..

Why is a new exhaust manifold required, does the e36 one not fit in the engine bay?

Steering ratio quickener
hey guys, I know e36 and Z3 rack swaps are common, but has anyone on here ever used a steering ration quickener? something like this: http://www.speedwaymotors.com/ProductSummary.aspx?free_text|2/9/2009%2011:55:41%20PM=Steering+Quickener&deptId=0 apparently they are common in the rally world. this s...

Those wheels are CR7s, but I don't know where you'd get them.

Re: look what i got--Koni
I think I read you're supposed to leave them on soft for the first few hundred miles or so to allow them to break in properly, then you can adjust them. But I've got them on full soft, and paired with very stiff H&R race springs(~300F/500R) the ride isn't bad.

Re: look what i got--Koni
Yeah, it's important that you remove the black rubber bumpstops from inside the shield, not just the white plastic washer. You'll want to leave them on their softest setting though. Don't forget to put the bumpstops back in after adjustment either way.

Re: Wil the E30 ever become classic?
Its a bit nice to see how diffrent nations have a view of what a classic car is. In Sweden to an example, the E30 is just an old 3 series from the 80s and most of them are rusted to a shed or have awfull styling. Frankly speaking, the E30zone is the only place I have found this passion for this spe...

The only thing an alignment will be able to do is reset toe in/out, and that's not what would cause the vibration you describe. I agree with the poster above, if the bushes aren't worn then maybe try getting your wheels rebalanced.

The clip they show at the end of him being caught is just a clip from earlier in the vid. Legend is the kid got away but his dad turned him in the next day, or something like that.

Where I live here in the city the roads aren't so bad, but a lot of people live out where most city folk would consider rural, where the roads aren't well maintained. Most people drive 6,000lb 4x4 pick up trucks and SUVs, so there is no reason to have good roads.

Re:
The Eibach pro kit sold here in the US is supposed to be around as stiff as stock, but a lot lower. Low + soft = bottoming out, destroyed oil pans, which is why most avoid it. I've got the H&R race springs, very low and around 3x stiffer than stock. The Konis do a good job of keeping them under cont...

Re: Scorpion exhaust inquiry
Wow, Stebro must have recently increased the price. It used to be $595(Stebro was one of the other systems I was considering). I can get the Scorpion for $399, almost $300 cheaper!
Thanks for the comments, any more input is appreciated.

Scorpion exhaust inquiry
Hello, I am considering getting a Scorpion exhaust for my 325i, but since nobody here in the US seems to have these, I can't find any information on them. But I understand they are huge in the UK, so maybe you can recommend them/warn against them. This would be what I would be getting: http://www.ba...

Thanks for all the replies. All US e30s had plastic bumpers from 89-91. The "OBC" only tells time and temp as far as I know and has 6 buttons - so it may or may not actually be an OBC. I think there were versions with more buttons that did more things, but you guys would know that better than me. Th...

Request: Sound clip of Scorpion exhaust on M20 engine
Hello
I have been looking for a sound clip of a Scorpion muffler/exhaust but have found nothing. This is quite the forum, I searched and got thousands of threads.
It would be great if someone could post any recordings they happen to have or know of. Thanks in advance
