Thanks for all the feedback. As a result i have scratched Off Toyo's. I do not care for poor performance in the wet. I'm really hoping for Yokohama's as my best - anyone used these? Else i'm considering Uniroyal as mentioned here, Bridgestone's, Conti or Khumo. To broaden availability i could go to ...

TYRES!
Is there any knowledge out there with you folks as to what tyres you recommend - and definately advise against, for a 320i saloon running on 15" BBS alloys? Am considering Toyo, Nexus, amongst others.

Update: - changed Rad - no change. Removed water pump after noticing water leak below it! Aha a proper symptom! Pump quite worn by feel with lateral movement. Put on a part worn which i had in keeping - though i wanted to replace with new straight away - but my desire to get a result asap meant i di...

Thanks Brian. Improvement with new cap and more thorough bleeding, but after about 10 miles heating started to drop off, stopped and saw possible leak from radiator, and also suspect pump - but this is not old, i think i changed it relatively recently. I have an almost new spare to change if necessa...

Thanks Brian. No, it does not make sense that it is the gasket. Coolant leak, but i can't find where. I know the cap is faulty and have new replacement ready. Will do tommorow. Are these cars tricky to bleed as they tend to give me trouble getting air locks out. As soon as my heating goes i know i h...

Overheating. Head gasket or other
My 320i developed overheating problems. I assumed head gasket, but there is no coolant in oil, and no missing on any of the cylinders. No creamy sludge. But i noticed petrol(strong vapours) in the coolant!

Re:
Intersting. I own a 316 1.8 and a 320i Sports coupe on motronic. My 1.8 on average to light drive gives me 32-34 mpg which i consider pretty good. The 320i is bloody surpising cos this particular model so far outstrips my previous 320i in economy. Why? Because the one i now have is in fantastic tune...
