well to be honest ive lost all motivation as the weathers been too nice and my bikes come out to play now lol :D . But i have the car running smooth with the dreaded cooling system to do and uive been waiting for woods of bournemouth to get my z3 shortshift parts since i began back before xmas w****...

Right still stuck on this ..
Any ideas on this there's definently no hoses that I've missed .
Am I right in thinking 318is cable is fine to use?
Also can I still use diagnostics to help find a dodgy sensor etc

Right little update of what ive done today ...not much. Ive still got to do the oil return pipe but that shouldnt effect the cars running should it? Sweet thats what i needed cheers mate looks like il be cracking the welder out tomorrow. As its just a drain a 10mm hole should be ok or should i go larger?

Right I might have made another small mistake do i use e36 dipstick tube with e34 sump and dipstick? Thanks gary

Good info there cheers . Ive read it through a few times and the way ive interpreted it is that its oil seperater valve? And says i can just get rid?
Theres no hole or hose in the e34 sump but there seems to be in the e36 sump would that of been where it would of connected?

Thanks dan had that round the right way more by luck than judgement. Yeah making some progress now just seems that everything i try to get on with theres little niggles slowing me down. Heres a little update from today only had half a day at so went to put the steering linkage in and it it didnt fit...

Right guys and girls little update ... finnaly got over the probs that ive been having eg wrong sump and electrical probs (with ALOT of help from danthe) the engine is now in. fitted all the bits and bobs i had ready but still waiting for my z3 shift leaver mid feb ive been told thats 2 n half month...

They are cheapo 17 inch tsw kylami I don't think they make them anymore as I bought them 3 years ago when I still had my cab and haven't seen any for sale since.

thanks guys id be truley stuffed without the help of the zone :D il have another go tomoz n il let you know how i get on ive just whipped out and connected the vanos seenoid to the fuel rail and the plug i had plugged in the vanos unit filled the empty plug on the inlet the starters still not primin...

few more slight probs today finally got the car turning over it was the flybolts which were to long so had to drop gearbox which was fun on my drive lol.now that i try to start it, the starter turns but no sign of ignition and the fuel pumps not priming? any ideas what ive done wrong been scratching...

Yes I checked for sump clearance before I fitted the box . But il have another look tomoz see what I come up with. That's what I was worried about tbh as on my m20 m42 I could turn easily and the m52 turns but is very very heavy

yes removed the back of sump bits going to have a look at a larger cable going to the starter tomorrow as danthe has suggested that to me if not itl prob be off with the gearbox and have a look

Right i got the engine into the bay today and ran out of light ive got yet another slight prob got the engine all bolted up but none of the plumbing done yet . the loom is connected and when i try to start it it just does a single click as if the starter is stuck or cant engage? none of the lights d...

thanks guys the thread on the outlet on right is slightyly smaller, could i slightly enlarge the thread just by tapping as theres not alot in it thread wise. also just out of curiosity why would my m52 not have the hole in ? been searching through loads of threads and they all have the hole ready :x...

just started putting the loom back on and have just noticed there is no blanck for the brown temp to ?? is there any ways around this ? thanks gary
