Bracket Below Alternator

Removed alternator for re conditioning and found this bracket below it. Can anyone tell me where this connects to? Thanks for any help.

hey guys, can someone tell me what colour i need to spray the number plate surround on my 91 325i sport? its white at the minute. does it not need to be like a satin black because its a sport?

Whip the plugs out and check the colour of them, that can tell you a lot about how the engine is running.
thats what i thought but there's no smoke.

1991 325i. tried paper over the exhaust there from cold and it was clear.

it does'nt have any oil dripping anywhere, and like i said before there is a very strong smell coming from the exhaust.

Burning oil

Hi, can anyone give me some insight into where my car might be burning oil? just got it mot'd there and drove it for two days and lost over 1 litre in oil. there's no smoke but a very strong smell from the exhaust.

Usually signs of previous owners bodges. Sounds like he had a wheel sensor fault, which made the abs come on intermitantly and can seriously reduce braking force :eek: He then removed the relay to disengage it and took the abs light out of the dash to 'cover' his tracks. Reverse lights not working

I cannot figure out why my reverse lights dont work, I put new bulbs in. What number is the fuse? Anyone here know what the problem could be?

Plastic welding 90 325i

I started the car this morning it took about 5 mins for warn air to come out of the fans, then i opened the bleed screw and a steady flow of coolant came out. Does this sound right with just 4 liters of coolant in the system?

8.Pour the coolant into the header tank (located on RHS next to wing) SLOWLY and give it time to settle. (should take about 4.5l to get to cold level marker)

I thought that the cooling system took 10.5 liters.

Help!!! Have i got an airlock

Car: 325i
Hi, Drained and flushed my cooling system there today. But there must be an air lock in system somewhere, I mixed 2 liters of coolant and 2 liters of water in a measuring jug. all the system would take to fill it up was 4 liters sure this cant be right? :eek: Please help?

Hi, do you refill the cooling system threw the expansion tank? And when flushing would it be a good idea to remove the thermostat so that the water can move around the system more easier? :?

Hi, was just looking at my coolant reservoir and noticed that the sensor was covered in a brown rusty gunk. My Question is how do i clean out my cooling system?
