I prefer the viscous fan to electric but if you do go electric the E34/32 aircon fan fits perfect This is good but weighs a tonne and draws alot of current, if i were you i'd measure the rad and get the best electric fan you can afford (kit car/race car sites etc.) Got a 16" slim one on mine, light...

heavy but some descent springs and it still handles well... if you want a cheap disposable engine with good torque you can't beat it, and when it blows there very cheap to replace!

or M30 has a fair bit of torque, cheap, heavy and dirty lump of iron, easy to convert and a hell of lot of fun and will easily kick the back out with the right diff

i would of thought so, but never drivin an m50. Must admit though i thought the m30 would of made it alot worse handling than it is, considering the weight of the engine it still handles pretty well

Re:

but the m30 is getting on a bit, if i was to do it all again i would have probably gone the m52b28 and tuned it, but the m30 is cheap to do and engines are cheap to replace if it does go bang...

times?

I got a 5.76 0-60 in my m30'd e30, but that really is if you get the traction down.

Re: using a 316 ecu on a 318is engine, anything to worry abo

lol, it seems ok when warm, but hesitant when slow, if i use a ecu from an E30 without EWS will this be able to start and run the engine. Just looked at the one i got and it looks like it is EWS so need another ECU either way unless they can be programmed?

lol Thats what i'm worried about, i've got the m42 ecu, is there a way to some how bypass the EWS to work with it, i just thought it was a chip inside the ecu programmed to work with the key, but i'm pretty sure the ECU that came with the M42 didn't have an immobliser so somehow need to trick the sy...

using a 316 ecu on a 318is engine, anything to worry about?

Hello, Does anyone know weather running a 318is engine on an 316 ECU will mess the engine up or cause any running problems/emission problems? Reason i'm asking is i've put a M42 in my sisters E36 but because of the immobliser on the ECU only the original 316i ecu will start ad run the engine. It see...
