Re: Vehicle Trackers

when you say tracker, e30topless, do you mean a Tracker product installed by Tracker? Or just any old tracking device? Tracker specifically relies on the police being in the vicinity, with their equipment detecing a VHF signal. Since the police are supposed to be 'everywhere', the theory goes that s...

Re: Vehicle Trackers

Hi Guys - I'm really interested in your comments regarding 'trackers' Basically there are 2 types (for those who may not know and yet are interested): GPS: Very poor for asset recovery, but fantastic for fleet management - usually wired in beacuse power hungry i.e. a hassle and non-transferable - ea...

Re: Any One Know This Car

As soon as I saw this car I knew to head over to the Zone ASAP. I'm interested also, but is it too good to be true? It is rather reasonably priced if it does what it says on the tin! winkeye

Re: Anyone recommend a good place for servicing? (Midlands)

Thanks for the replies guys. I shall certainly be following them up! Servicing is always a bit of a headache for me. As with the MOT I seem always to uncover a new fault/issue with the car (mine being a 1990 325i sport) every tme it's serviced. :? But there again, these motors are ageing gracefully ...

Anyone recommend a good place for servicing? (Midlands)

Hi Folks Just wondering if I should avoid Sytner in Coventry. I've read a couple of reviews which suggest the main dealers are a bit poor on a number of fronts (i.e. cost, knowledge of E30s and general indiffernce to cars older than 7 years . . .) Does anyone use a garage which truly knows its stuff...

How the hell do you deal with rotting wheel arches?

Hi guys (and any gals), I've had my sport for about 4 years now and I still love her though in truth, I probably be lucky to get 2k now assuming I ever did want to sell. Just thought I'd ask what my options might be with regard to both my rear wheel arches - they're bubbling up without looking too c...

Re: Slain by fiat punto gt (me in standard 325i sport) - nor

I live in coventry, but i'm little concerned that my sport has lost a load of sauce if punto gt can take me. And I was kinda tryin'. However, a mate has told me that those thing are sub 8 seconds and can reach 138mph, so feeling less bad about my 17 year-old retro german car. E36 higher spec motors ...

Slain by fiat punto gt (me in standard 325i sport) - normal?

I was better around various corners and roundabouts, but on the straight the punto killed me really - got on top of my bootlid whilst i was in 3rd giving it everything - admittedly i slowed down for cars in front, but the emerald green bogey thing (punto) whipped past me in slow lane as if I were an...

Yeah. Perhaps BMW can tell me when I put in for a service what diff its got. Truth is I wouldn't know what a LSD was if I tripped over one.

Just wanted to make sure that my car is a proper sport and not a well disguised something else

To any sport owners - is your battery in your boot?

I know it sounds trivial but is it a possible option for a 325i sport? Cos now I'm wondering if my car is actually an SE !!

Maybe I'm just paranoid!

My V5 says its a Sport

I was so freaked out that I purposely slowed. The Golf would've caned me anyway - probably a GTI

If I do have a LSD - its saved me more than once - I've gotta show more respect to that back end

Is this another way of telling that you've got a LSD?

I know this is very unscientific but I was cornering/taking a bend on a dual-carriage way at pace (50 mph) whilst sort of racing a powerful GOLF thingy. I lost traction suddenly causing my sport to fishtail for about 5 secs before self-righting. I did nothing other than ease off the power and did no...

OH POO! I just bought some 17" wheels! with 205/40/17 tyres  How badly will they affect handling? My suspension setup is standard btw The chap who sold them to me convinced me they'd be alright but then told me how his cousin crashed his 325i sport on 17s I guess I'll have to alter my 'driving ...

Thanks for the advice guys! I've heard chipping your motor reduces longevity Does the 325i sport slow down on 17" rims - cos I'm thinking of blowing Ԛ£500 - Ԛ£1000 on some wheels? It's good to know that you guys know your stuff. All I need now is a good mechanic to turn my sport into a rea...

1990 325i sport - what mods for £1000 - please advis

Hi Guys (and Gals?) I bought a Dolphin Grey Sport in 2004 and although she's fairly quick I think these days I'm struggling to keep up with newer cars - is the e30 underpowered now? Or is there something wrong with my car? Anyhoo, I'm gonna blow my paltry bonus on a decent service + bodywork touch-u...
