One of my fog lights is aiming into the sky, rather than the floor and now I've noticed it, I can't stop being drawn to it.
The car is an 1987 325i Sport and I wonder if there is an easy way to adjust it? I've seen various things online but they seem to be for the face lift models.
Thanks

Parts prices please
Hi, I've got water coming in the boot of my Aug 87 325i Sport and it's been recommended to start by replacing the rear light seals and the gaskets in the vents that sit in the rear wings.
Is it possible you could get me the parts prices please?
Thanks
Phil

Hi, I use the Bosch Auto Service and tuning company in Hitchin, used to be a BMW specialist but now looks after all Germ manufacturers. They even have an E30 expert.

Driver's side wing mirror glass required
My E30's drivers wing mirror was smashed by a huge truck on a narrow road, never a good combination. The actual surround survived which shows they made the robust in those days, doubt my 640's would have survived in tact. I was just wondering where is best to buy a replacement, there a lot on ebay b...

Cambelt change on a 325
Hi, I've just got off the phone to my local BMW specialist as I wanted a quote to change my cambelt on my 87 325 and I nearly had to sit down £386, Does that sound right? It does include the fitting, belts, coolant and water pump.

325i rough idling and strong smell of petrol from the back
Just recently my 325 had started to idle roughly to the point that it shakes quite alot (as can be seen by the exhaust on it's mounts) and at the same time there is also quite a strong smell of pertol coming from the exhaust, to suggest it's running quite rich. It runs fine when on the move. Any ide...

Does a facelift instrumen cluster fit in a pre facelift car?
My 87 325i sports instrument cluster has been condemned as beyond economic repair. Therefore I’ve found a post face lift one will it fit and work in my car if I swap the coding chip over?

Re: Fan cut through through coolant pipe
The pipe isn't ballooning as it was a new BMW one only fitted late last year after I damaged the sump by hitting a kerb which at that point pushed the fan into the pipe. The more I think about it the more I'm convinced that accident probably damaged the mounts and despite me asking the garage to che...

Re: Fan cut through through coolant pipe
The plastic clip is in place but there is still a little play with the pipe, it just seems the fan is too close to the hose in the first place. Probably doesn't help that I don't have a shroud in place.

Fan cut through through coolant pipe
As per the subject title, the cooling fan on my 325 which sits directly behind the radiator has all of a sudden started to catch one of the coolant pipes attached to the front of the engine (I believe it's the one from the water pump to the thermostat). I've already checked various online web sites ...

I've taken out my dashboard binnacle as the odometer stopped working which I've now resolved , but thought I'd see if the SI batteries could be replaced at the same time as my service lights don't work and the inspection light remains on? Re: odometer and Mileometer not working
Thanks for your reply Brian. The only reason why I can think they've stopped working is because of the severe impact of me hitting the kerb and cracking the sump which knocked something out of alignment but as you suggest I'll have a look first to see if I do indeed need new gears.

odometer and Mileometer not working
Earlier in the year I had the misfortune to damage the sump on my 325 by hitting a large kerb (don't ask but I was on my way to Le Mans at the time). Anyway fast forward 6 months and I've had the car repaired but now the Odometer and Mileometer have stopped working. I've had a look on the internet a...

Thanks gents for your positive advice and for No1 Jazz's link which was most useful in getting the matrix out. Unfortunately GSF have sent the wron part despite me giving them my chassis number. I'll be having a nice little chat with them tomorrow!
Thanks again.

O ring size for the Heater matrix pipes
I ordered a Heater matrix from GSF (for my 1987 325) but it didn't turn up with any O rings and obviously as the ones in situ have been there for over 26 years I want to replace them. Anybody know the size and where I can get them from? GSF couldn't supply them!

Changing the heater matirx
As I've already posted my heater matrix has decided to dump coolant into the passenger footwell.
I bought a replacement part but does anyone know of a good guide to show how to change it? I have a Bentley manual but it covers LHD drive which obviously differs from our set up.

Re: Coolant in the passenger footwell
When I tested it yesterday, after stripping the interior trim around the matrix nothing came out but when I turned the heater on full it did a good impression of Niagra falls.
Where would be the best place to buy a heater matrix? GSF and Eurocarparts are around the £55 -70 mark.

Thanks Guy's, I'll have another look later on and see the valve has a leak although going by the quantitiy of Coolant coming through the vent I suspect it sounds more like the matrix.

OK removed the glovebox and trim. Turned the heater on and water came gushing out of the air vent on both sides. Could we therefore conclude that's my issue is with the heater matrix and it needs to be replaced?
