Thread revival. Long time no visit Zoners.
Still got this car - its very dusty and ran out of MOT last summer BUT its been garaged and was OK when it was put away so I’m hoping some minor recommissioning will see it back on the road shortly.
New pics soon

Re: Gearbox feel
Gearshift On any high mileage E30 can be massively improved by replacing all the shifter components which wear out - of which there are many ! To replace the lot is now not a cheap job and particularly horrible if you only have axle stands. Having said that of all the jobs ive done on my E30 it was ...

Change the rubber seals on the metal pipe that fits between the block and underside of the manifold. ( this can be a pig of a job, and getting the pipe in or out is NOT possible with the manifold in place. On reassembly you need to compress the spring right down and use cable ties to keep the spring...

You can revert to the pre facelift setup which did not have this pipe.
Check realoem.com using a pre facelift car for the info and it should show the setup

Used my E30 for work the last 3 days. Yesterday lunchtime as i drove out of work i felt a judder under my foot like when the ABS is kicking in ( i was doing less than 5mph with my foot barely on the brake ) and the ABS light came on. Drove home with it on, turned off and restarted engine when i got ...

6 cylinder saloons on a J plate are pretty rare most of the J plate cars seem to be 4 cylinder cars and Tourings in particular.

Ive used both tyreleader and cartyres.com recently. I will probably stick to the OEM stuff i think. Good luck. This is a pig of a job especially if you dont have access to a ramp and are on your back with the car on axle stands and 30 years worth of crap dropping into your eyes
