was the m10 ever fitted to the e30? the rules state that if i have injection i have to convert it to carb setup if a carb was fitted to this model?
so i have an e30,if it ever came with a carb the most logical solution would be to find a m10 lump with carb and dizzy/ignition control unit.

m40 carb and ignition question

i'am currently building my E30 into a stock car for next year, problem being the formula states carb only, now my E30 is 1800cc on injection. Can i get a carb and inlet manifold from a m40 1600 and bolt it on???, if so i guess the ecu would be useless, so would i need ignition parts and or ecu from ...

ste, the project was put to one side for ages due to work commitments but its now up and running again, no rallies yet but looking to getting her finished and tested by middle of march.

re cage, yes i can take more pics, sounds intriguing tho lol, pm me re leon.

i made a flyoff handbrake today, using a self tapper!!! works a treat

Good idea Adam, where did you source the sheet and how did you fix to the underside? Presumably lots of self tappers and large washers?

can i measure in situ or does it need to be striped? and where is the measurement taken from?

fuel tank

does anyone know if the fuel tank on a 1990 318i e30 is the same as the 318i e36?

reason iam asking is that my mate had had tank guards made up for his e36 rallycar and i want some for my e30, just saves grief if the tanks are the same, i can get the same made up.

well change of plan guys, i have been given a m52 engine so its my plan to transplant into my e30 and keep it a standard look, due to work commitments i cannot find the time needed to build and rally the car, photos will be posted as and when

is this the m40 engine?

on the drive home, i can hear i whine from the rear, i guess its the diff, is this a common fault?

also the fuel pump is quite loud, is this normal??

I have just bought this one owner 85K mile 318i with t&t for £100 I am going to use her in the ANWCC roadrally championship in 2009. I will post photos on here during the build.
