Check the plug that goes into the AFM on top of the filter housing. Recently had a problem with mine not idling and this was the problem.

Definately (was) a 325e in the beginning, but the engine has seen the Alpina mods, so a big difference in performance. Sorry about the bum steer.

The ecu is the original one the car was born with, so let me know what to check and I will have a look.

I have found after 10+ years of ownership of e30 327i that oil use is somewhat related to the speed the car is driven at and the weight of oil that is used. Generally I will use about 1/2 a litre in 10,000kms. If the oil is say 5-40 synth it will use more than 15-50 synth over the same milage period...
