Re: Pictures of Baur roof locking mechanism

Yes this is what I have got.
My car Baur No. is 41433.

What does the counterpart that is attached to the roof panel, look like? I only have two empty threads there. Also am I correct in assuming that the two systems are interchangeable, as long as I replace both the top and bottom half?

Thanks

Re: Pictures of Baur roof locking mechanism

Apparently there is an early and a late model, which have a slightly different mechanism. Will post a photo of the parts I have tomorrow. But I also believe that the mechanisms are interchangable. How much for the top part that is held down by the 4 screws and the counterparts from the roof? Thanks ...

As the title says. Have tried to do a search, but can't find any pictures here or on google. Just bought a Baur and am trying to get the roof locking mechanism to work. I believe I am missing some parts on my car, but have not been able get a picture of a complete mechanism. Also I understand that t...

Thanks DanThe! Could you also measure how far it leans to the right hand side. I.e. distance from crank to point furthest on right if installed at nominal angle. Yes I would be going for a custom gearbox adaptor. Luckily the Toyota gearbox comes with a removable bellhousing, so hopefully modifying t...

M50/52 dimensions

Hi, I need some help. I have just blown up the engine in my Toyota Hilux, which is the towing car for my BMW E30 320is Rally car. So rather than putting in a Totyota turd engine, I am considering dropping in an M50/52 engine and then running that on petrol/LPG. I know I will probably regret this dec...

Has anybody got ny experience with this? Am currently rebuilding my 320is rally car, and for regulations in Australia I need to build it in RHD. P-clip on battery cable

Hi,

Am just redoing the interior of my 325i. And trying to get everything back to stock condition.

On the battery cable to the battery in the trunk, there is a metal P-clip. Where does this P-clip get bolted to?

Thanks

Hi, Have just stripped my E30 down to the bare shell and am about to start rebuilding. However before I do this, I want to have the chassis checked and straightened as necessary. Hi, has anyone ever made weld-on or bolt on brackets for normal E30 front struts, so that E30 M3 style drop links can be fitted? Re: Car won't start after waterpump change

Well I checked the timing marks, and both line up.
So unless the compression tester is fubar, I am at a loss.
Ps: I only compression tested 1, 3 and 4.

I may try to start it again tomorrow after the pistons have dried out, but I am not hopeful.

Problem has been solved... The head gasket has gone! Did a compression check and get between 70 and 100psi on most cylinders. Car had a overheated at the time when the old water pump failed. Re: Car won't start after waterpump change

I found it on the floor after I had removed the old water pump and didn't quite know what to do. There is the potential that the belt has jumped, but I deem this unlikely, as I never pulled the ...

Haven't unplugged the wires. So haven't messed them up. How do you work out if you get one spark every two revolutions? I personally can't look quick enough.... If you get an M3 steering rack, it will be a straight swap. For the E36 or Z3 rack you will need to adjust the thickness of the spacer between the two halves of the universal joint. Also if you decide to go for the Z3 route, make sure you get a real Z3 rack, when I was looking for one, most people w...

Stainless exhaust pipe, where from?

Hi,

I need some 2 1/4 inch OD stainless steel exhaust pipe to do some exhaust repair.
Would need to be 500mm long.

Alternatively 60mm OD pipe would also do.

Anyone got any ideas where I could get some pipe from? Preferably in Derby.

Re: Which cheap BMW touring run-about?

Would consider E36, is the 318tds the best one to get then? What mpg do you get?

E30 325i on LPG would be an option, but currently haven't got time to do a project. Need a simple run-about with minimum effort . And a good used one will be a bit pricey.

Any more suggestions?
