Help with Touring rear sear re-trim...
I need my rear seats re-trimmed in Leather. I have been quoted £250 to do this by B-Trim in Enfield. However, they says they cannot exactly match the 'very thick' vertical stitching that BMW used - it's very very thick thread on top the already quite tough and vinyl-like leather BMW used on E30's....

Re:
These look great - but to be honest are at their best on dark grey colours: Diamond Black/Gunmetal/Dolphin etc. I'd love one but on a Lazer Blue car (or White/Green/Red etc) it's a bit Max Power. I had any of the dark grey colours my name would already be on the list as the price is good for a prove...

Align, and give the lamps a bloody good clean regularly.
Aim a bit higher than usual too - but not too much.

Re: 9000RPM!
Higher revs is usually done with lighter internals and cams / ECU's that take advantage of this. Lightweight pistons, con-rods etc so they go up and down quicker. Because they're light, they need to be made strong. This is done by forging (rather than casting) and sometimes using materials like tita...

Re: How do I value this rare E30?
If it's mint, you should fix it properly. Brand new wings and bumper, fresh paint etc.
Hence the offer of £500, as you'll spend £5-700 getting it 'mint' again.

Re: remapping and chipping
Well, from 138 from a stock 318iS - you won't even get 170 with a BBTB AND cams AND a re-map AND exhaust. Forced induction I guess but I've never really been into this method. Again, IMO I'd go for re-map, full and proper service and spread the money around elsewhere too - some awesome tires, brakes...

Re: remapping and chipping
BTBB is unproven - a lot of iS owners say there's no gains from BTTB.
Cams will be good but again, BHP per £ is kind of shocking with that route.
First thing I would do is re-map, and also ask yourself what you want from the engine.

Re: Plan for the ultimate E30
Good luck buddy - if you may run into negativity on this site but ignore.
I would also consider E36 engines, perhaps a 325tdi if you love Diesel, just as they'll be easier to put in.
Diesels give huge gains on re-maps too no?
Where's the shot taken - Scotland? Beautiful...

Re: GPS Antenna Connector Crimping?
I think you can access it from the back to solder so I'll they that - bought a load so I'll practice! I would just replace the antenna at £40 but it's routed all neat behind the dash and I'm not doing that again. Soldering has never been my strong point - and I don't know how I'm gonna get some so...

10K will get you something very nice. Not a mint Sport Evo or a ultra lo-miles version but definitely something clean and mechanically sound. I think a lot of the zoners saying that gets you nothing are in fact M3 owners! :D I would not pay more £9999 for an M3. I'm holding out for a nice Evo II i...

Re: GPS Antenna Connector Crimping?
It didn't.
The soldering ting is what it confusing.
I think that's what the circular thing is for - it's a door to access
the rear for soldering.
Sounds like a lot of noise for a simple job but if this part is
not done well it really ruins your satellite signal.
Cheers tho!

So slide the ferrule over the cable. Peel back the braided layer over the plug extension. Press the main core into the plug housing. Then pull and crimp the ferrule back over the braid to close the connection? Sounds good. What about that circular thing? I thing it gives access to the back of the pl...

I'm replacing the SMB connector on my sat nav aerial as it's shredded to bits. Pay maybe £3-3.5K max.

Re: Your opinions please.....
How much do 'real' 325i Cabs go for on H/J/K plates? From around £3K? I'd rather be starting to look for a car that is a 325i Can from the start. It's not an outrageous price but it should be pretty tidy for £3.8K. In my opinion, conversions do not add value at all, even if it's it a bigger/bett...

I think they are both OEM suppliers to BMW, and they even both make some of the same parts. For example, I think they both do Control Arms and Control Brackets. There's a thread on here that says BMW only select part runs from these manufacturers that reach or exceed certain tolerances/qualities/str...
