Re: 318iS spec
Yes the splitter needs changing for the correct one but that wheel could have been bought with the car as a dealer option and on that basis perfectly acceptable imo to retain it

I'm not local but if you give it a little tap from the top with a hammer it can give you some life in an emergency
If you get it going and are passing near Kennington I have one here

Re: Bagged Chromie, thoughts?
No, it went to at least two people between me and going to NI - the twat who bought it off me was from south London (I left some stuff including my TomTom under the drivers seat. I rang him when he could only have been 200m away and he hung up on me and never answered me again!) It then turned up in...

It used to be mine
I sold it on it's original 14" BBS wheels. I did only pay £357 for it on eBay from a dude in Doncaster

Re: Mercedes W201 190E value for money cf E30
The supply of low mileage rust free survivors in this country is much much higher than E30s - they come up fairly often. 6 months ago I bought a 56,000 mile 2.0. It's a great car but dammit without front armrest.
Also, the four door only format means they have a narrower appeal than E30s.

I also had a pinengrun houndstooth sport interior in a 320i 2dr chromie. That was lovely and I imagine not plentiful.

I don't have a pic let alone custard test but a chap who has owned a black sport evo since brand new (a well know car) had a Nogaro Evo 2 before it which he ordered new with LSs, and yes in silber half leather half big check.

Re: S Class
Good point on the beam under the parcel shelf and rear screen support. The SECs tend to be worse affected possibly due to the steeper rake on the rear screen. I looked at five cars when buying mine, and two had rot there despite looking mint externally. The repair is doable and the panel available b...

Re: S Class
You can't really go wrong, even a £1k rough one if running will be a great banger barge but if you properly covet one a £4k one is all you need for a pretty perfect example. Alot more rot resistant than an E30, save the trap at the front of the front wings. Check bumper chromes too, but they are ava...

Re: S Class
Costs peanuts to run for the 2 years I've had it (I SORN it over winter). I get 26mpg on a run (it's a 88MY 265bhp 500SE). It goes pretty ferociously, faster than I expected, partly as they 'only' weigh 1650kg and this one has 405NM of torque. Had some great road trips with friends to Wales x2 I wou...

Re: E30 M3 Floor Mats
I have a set of genuine original M3 silber (light grey) velour footmats with the BMW grey plastic roundel and fixing holes. they are in great condition except that there's a heel wear hole in the drivers mat, so to be mint you'd need a grey velour drivers mat and swap the fixings over. Any use to an...

As to the other scrap - Morris Minors have been cheap shit since they were new. They can't have been that bad if they last 40+ years and so many, including mine, are still in everyday use. Quality First, I think you'll find, old bean! +1 I find it astonishing there are unrestored, albeit sha...
