what do i buy for £1500-£2000 ? just sold a e36 323i coupe , had a 318i e30 before that which i liked but needed a bit more go , i want manual , 2 door preferably , RWD and otherwise im not worried

hmm possibly excuse my ignorance as i may well be wrong as im a motorbike mechanic not a car mechanic on a bike if the tensioner is tired it generally rattles when not under load either hot/cold or whatever , they work on a sliding ratchet mechanism and the teeth wear on the ratchet part , no idea h...

my e39 touring went round the rear arch , rest was perfect though so i reckon it had been repaired at some point , massive amount of car for the £800 i gave at auction though , just juicy

hi all , my 323 e36 has a rattle on start up with soon clears but is there all the same , id imagine its the hydraulic lifters ? its done 120k now so i should think there a bit gummed up as the guy i got it off never serviced the poor thing is it a case of just replace them or does this engine flush...

doubt il get it back , pretty trashed , managed to get loads of pics on my phone to show insurance etc.. one ive got a lead to connect it to the pc id post them on here , made a proper mess of it , had just got it looking really good aswell

hey ant , ive put it on snap-on diagnostics whilst it was having a moment and it didnt find any fault codes , live data all seemed ok etc.....
problem is it wont do it now for ages im sure but i know i havent fixed it and im damn certain it will do it again at some stage

look up a firm called F1moto , based right near brands hatch in west kingsdown , he builds alot of trick bike parts which is how i know him but he does alot of drift cars aswell and i know hes fitted bike throttle bodies to tons of cars

hi all , my e39 seems to have developed an odd fault , i say odd as its never done it to myself only to others who have driven it and ive not been there to witness it from what i can gather they get in and start it as normal then about 2 secs later it dies and will not restart off the key , will bum...

my 318i has had a top end rebuild and its still a bit clicky , most of its the injectors i think , obviously i cant hear your car but there not a mechanically quiet thing from my experiance of them
maybe just got used to the modern cars with there sound deadening etc.... enjoy the car mate

my cars going to be treated to a new master cylinder shortly , before i go and buy a std 318i one is there anything off another bmw model that will fit it and have a bigger piston etc and a bit more stopping power , fitted bigger master cylinders to motorbikes etc but not sure its something you can ...

is it not adjustable on the injected cars ? on my throttle linkage theres a locknut + adjuster which i presumed was for idle speed ? god knows what ive adjusted then

cheers , mines at about 600 , raised it yesterday and seemed ok
today its lower again , hunts from cold especially and cuts out every now and then , can hear the fuel pump when the cars idling and im stood outside , not sure thats normal

hey all still having problems with my e30 (318i M40) seems ok for a while , throttle response isnt brilliant from cold but idles ok , if it gets hot though it sometimes starts to hunt and cuts out at junctions , always restarts - also makes the interiour clock go funny and the mpg gauge swings aroun...
