I have a 1989 motorsport cab and at some time in it's life it's been lowered.i'd like to bring it back to standard ride height (give or take.)Cotswold quote around £300 for bmw ones.
H&R/Eibach say springs are not for cars with factory sport suspension?Any suggestions before I contact Cotswold? Thanks.

+1 to what Brian says. I had to buy a new tensioner spring and pin. I also fitted a new fanbelt and steering pump belt while every thing was in bits.

I managed to get the seat base 1 notch lower by kneeling at the side of the car. I don't think they'd been adjusted since new. My backside isn't sports seat shaped unfortunately .

Cabby front seats different?
Are cabby front seats higher than in saloons? The top of the steering wheel blocks the view of the speedo and rev counter(It's a bus style 385mm wheel). The rear adjustment isn't as much either. Can this be increased by removing a stop or something?I owned an 86 320i and an 89 325i many years ago ,bot...

If it's your viscous fan the noise is normal.I'd be much more concerned about why ,especially in rural ipswitch. How old is your radiator,it might be partially blocked?

Re: How to distinguish between the M20 engines?
Stubeedoo has got it in one...If you look at any engine bay photo's,the 320 inlet manifold tubes are almost straight, whereas the 325 tubes do a gentle curve through almost 45 degrees.

As the picture says it's just crankcase ventilation, from the rockercover to the throttle body[If you're worried just wrap a bit of electricians tape around the crack for now]
