thanks as in real oem. parts 9 and 10 are different to. wot do these do and do we think that can be changed between the two timing cases.

yer you are right about it fitting in my car as there are no schassis parts under the engine ware the e36 sump will sit.
i think it is just the oil pick up. cannot find any info as to ware it is on the e36 m42 cars. of to ask the chaps in that linkey i guess.

i dont remember all the details on there sump. i am going to call pete again in the new year.i can remember i cannot afford it. been looking at the sump used on the e36 318is. looks allot easier to take hight out of and is thinner. could be the winning solution if i can work out haw the oil pick up ...

as in title. can this be done. the e36 sump looks a lot easier to cut some hight out of and keep the capacity the same. it also looks like it runs along the engine front to back ware as the e30 runs left to right. as i need moor space on the right of the engine this is a good thing to. my only thoug...

GKD and i have spent a wile chatting on the phone. thaye have a lower sump witch i may get but i have to talk him dawn on the price. still wont solve the whole problem as the side of the sump binds on the schassis. still looks like a custom job or a wee bit of a chop and brace on the schassis but a ...

yer i can add a box to the opposite side of the oil pan. i think it is called a wing in motersport.

i was hopping that baffles will stop starvation and if the oil hight in wot is left of the pan is the same splash on to the crank should also be the same.

ok so as some will know i am using an m42 in a 7 style car i am building from scratch. i need my oil sump to not be ware it is witch is a shame. the sump needs to have 25 mm taken off the bottom may get away with 15 mm but that is a compromise. i also need 40 mm of the passenger side of the sump. on...

is that the only signal? also dose it just measure it on the big butterfly or throttle cable or dose it measure both butterfly valves independently? (if that makes sense)

Hi yall. I am borrowing an e 46 at the minet with a 1.9 8 valve engion. It's started being a bit slower shal we say on startup. Just refuses to pull past 2000 rpm untill realy warmed up and then it's all fine again. Any idears welcomb I know the best fix would be swop for an e30 325 but hay. [/list]

I am yousing the diff and drive shafts going to fabricated uprights holding BMW rear whealbarings and drive flandges with BMW rear drums all suported on fabricated dubble wishbones. if that makes sence. I know or rather suspected it is important and not do withoutable. My drama is converting to itb's ther is no ware for an afm to go. Unless I have 4. Culd go to custom stand alone engion manadgement. Wuld like to get it running withough though.

Ok so... Wot about meatering the air passing the car and avalable for induction. Rather than the air actualy being indused. Wuld you get the engion running right then/ culd you get it running right then. Or ......

So as in title. Wot does the afm do and haw does it do it? I gess it meshers flow rate with the butterfly valve. But wot elce does it do and wot other info dus the ecu get from it? If it is just a flow meater then wot advers afects on the engion would it have if I removed it from the airflow and Jam...

Think you have pritey mutch outlined the problem purfectley. That is also about as deep into it as I can think.

Wether right or rong. A e36 rack is quicker than an e30 one any way. Granted not as fast as the z3 rack but when I put an e36 rack in mine it improved. Thay are cheep. Just give it a go.

That's not a bad plan rob. But the engion is going in at some point anyway. Culd get another summer out of hur next year though. The 7 will not be ready by then.
