Re: heated front screen
BMW don't sell them now I don't think unfortunately. They're a great invention! I've got one for my E30, but the company that made it only had a few left and mine was one of the last. Wow, that's a lot cheaper than the company I found! Any chance they would make more if there are a couple of people...

Re: heated front screen
I know a company that makes/sells heated front windshields for loads of cars (including E30). It is quite popular to use in the rally scene where heating might be trown out during the build. IIRC it was 440€ for a regular E30 and 475€ for an M3 E30. Quite a lot of money, but it is a safety featu...

Re: Speed with std diff
Hi, I hade some time and fixed all the bugs in my tool. Added some new features as well. Download link: http://users.telenet.be/NDTConsultancy/Soundstorm/Gearbox%20calculations.xls You can add your own gearboxes and differentials if you go to the right tab. 20 of each are possible. Tell me what you ...

M52TU identification
Hi, I have read numerous amounts of info about the M50/M52, but now I'm in doubt of myself. If the engine is an M52 with double Vanos. Does that automaticly mean that it's a M52TU? I want an aluminum block with steel liners. And I thought that was the change in the TU, together with double Vanos. Am...

Re: Speed with std diff
I made this tool in Excel once. You can select gearbox and differential. It then calculates maximum speeds for each gear and shows a graph. I'll see where I can upload it. Although it still has some bugs in it. And of course, that's theoretical speeds, not depending on engine power. Here you go: Lin...

Re: E-Torx socket for cilinder head bolt
Yes, I got some cheap torx sets as well. But you need a special long and thin one for removing an M42/M50 head without taking the cam trays off first.
But I found some just after I posted this thread
Shipping from germany isn't that much.

E-Torx socket for cilinder head bolt
Hi, Does anybody have an idea where I can find a tool like this? http://i23.ebayimg.com/02/i/000/88/24/d521_1.JPG When Googling I always get US companies that sell them. But even with the dollar beeing slightly low, you still end up paying too much for shipping. My local tool shop doesn't have these...

Ok, thanks!
Would be sad to se the towers ripped apart after a bumpy ride when you've put all that hard work in the car.

They clear a 195/50/15 on a 7J wheel fine What wheels are you looking to run? If you call Gaz they can give you exact diameters Nothing is decided yet. It's a project car and I'm just making up the shopping list  But the rears will probably be 9 or 10 wide. There are 9's on it at the moment w...

Re:
How wide are the rear coilovers? Is the shock about the same size as the standard non-coilover or is coil + shock about the same size?
It's probably a bit wider, so that would limit the size of wheels used. Or am I thinking too extreme and will wheels hit something else first?

Re:anyone with an answer
Well done to the lads from Belguim for making the trip over, credit to you 8) We had a great time! Was fun talking to all you guys as well. Quite a bit of knowledge the zone members have. So it was fun to gather some information. Here are some pictures I took (also from the crashed E46 cab). http:/...

Re: M52B28 crank question
What are the differences why you would prefer one of both? Is it only a weight difference? Or are there bigger changes?
