I've got a carsoft diag kit that seems to work very well on my 328i. if you get really stuck come up and plug it in if you're not too far away - M1 J30 area.

E34/E32 --> E30 steering wheel fitment
I have an M-tech 1 steering wheel for sale on the forum. It came from an E34, and I've tried it on an E32 which it seemed to fit fine. I thought it was identical to the wheel I had on my E28 m535i, but someone has suggested that the E28 is a different fitment, and I'm now concerned that I'm going to...

Re: Rolling road day in Luton, Late November/early December
I enjoyed today a lot, good to put some faces to names :D some great cars too, Oakey's tech 1 sounded ace and put down some serious torque; Daimlerman's car meanwhile didn't have so much of a torque curve as a torque 'line', very impressive 8O nice to see a few E28s putting down good figures too. Re: Do people re-engine E28s and E12s
people put M60 V8s and M70 V12s in sometimes, i'd imagine the extra torque makes for a nice car.
as far as i know it's usually a good bit easier than putting big engines in E30s, because the 5 is closer in design to the 7 which naturally got the largest engines when new

i guess how much difference you feel will depend on how far gone the old rubber hoses are Andy.

Dieselmeister, i'd go with what Gunni said re 3.5 vs 2.5. with forged crank etc as standard and a litre more capacity it's a better bet for outright power and shouldn't cost more than an M20 to put together in terms of the turbo system. my system is frankly pretty crap in terms of manifold design/tu...

6 secs dead to 60 without too much trouble, my non-stripped 2dr with standard engine would do that. e34/e32 engine is definately the best choice NA tuning is possible but expensive for the gains you'll see - you'll get to 270bhp if you want to but it won't be cheap :eek: adding a turbo makes a nice ...

Best way to run it in is, go on motorway, top gear. 2000rpm all way to redline and then let the engine brake back down to 2k. Do this quite a few times. you want a nice torquey engine in a big barge like that, not a tuned up M30 and certainly not a revs-to-the-moon S50 :eek: I aqree that getting power from an M30 is expensive. therefore, the only sensible option is to put a 750i mill in :cool: re an S50'd E39 - i can't see that being half as good as...
