hi Ive removed the drivers door lock to repair it now I can`t remember how it fits! when looking at the lock barrel facing the car,which way does the end face to the right or to the left?? help :eek:

It seems to be temperature orientated only does it when cold, not when warmed up :?

I believe it is non switcheable, I have just changed the fluid and strainer,the haines manual say`s to check the level with gbox in park (after moving through the `box) is this correct? I have an American auto which tells you to check the level in drive.I know they are totally different but just wan...

wife`s car when cold won`t change up once warmed up or has changed gear, changes as normal will a fluid and filter change work, or is it more serious?

help my wifes car, a 320i convertible 1988 on an "E" has developed a few probs. Help when I turn off the engine on my 320i cabriolet after a couple of seconds the rev counter goes up to 1000 and the economy gauge goes to about 30 anybody any idea whats causing this? :?

just disconnected the kickdown cable,(unhooked it )took car 1 junction down motorway .............no difference 1st 2nd 3rd no `d` even tried it manually won`t change into top :x

the changing into top gear doesnt improve,I once managed to sort it by adjusting the kickdown cable(the setting of the small stop on the cable) but that does`nt seem to affect it anymore

having some trouible with wifes cabriolet,when cold it needs high revs to change gear for the first time,then its ok,or at least it was,now sometimes it refuses to change up, and when it does it will not change into top gear, would a fluid and filter change work or is it something more serious :cry:

just thought when the needles move they stay at 1000 rpm and eco gauge at about halfway and when ignition is switched on they return to their correct positions,its not a flip up and back down if thats what you mean?

fitted the new fuel pump ,car now starts great,now,when you turn off the engine the rev counter moves up to 1000 rpm and the economy gauge moves to about halfway,all go back to normal when ignition is turned on,does anybody have any ideas? :?

Wife`s car has broken down again,will not start,cranks over,tried shorting out fuel pump relay no`s 30 & 87 nothing, seems whatever it was last time is still faulty :mad: HELP

well I connected pins 30 &87 as you said,nothing at first,then bingo fuel pump worked,it seems the green/purple wire was hanging on by a thread,soldered a new piece of wire in there,thanks Brian I would never have found it if not for doing what you said :D

I`ve not tried that but I substituted a good relay and no response,I also took off the plate under back seat and checked for a live ,the large three prong connecter has an ignition live at one of the outer of the three prongs,with ignition on and including start,do I still need to try jumping the pi...
