Re: 60k oil changes?.....
Wouldn't surprise me if that engine dies in the not-too-distant future... They may have cleaned it out, but there's bound to be other damage (prob corrosion) that won't have been solved. Totally agree with not liking the long change intervals on newer cars--its a ploy by the manufacturers to woo fle...

Re: M42 360degree bearing upgrade
They're almost always sold as pairs, but there is rarely anything stopping you ordering just one half from a manufacturing point of view. Most presses will bang them out about one every second or two, and all the finishing (overlays, machining, boring, etc) is done on an equally massive scale, so on...

the difference with those studded tyres on was like night and day. word of warning tho if the cozzers pull you over on a road not completely covered in ice/snow they can fine you or something i think, for destroying the road surface. Steel-studded snow tyres are the best thing ever  Dunno wha...

As suggested by my dad: box of bricks or a bag of sand or something in the boot to get some weight on the drive wheels and its fine. My touring survived last winter quite well this way, and our old merc did many winters in Norway the same (though it also had the benefit of steel-studded snow tyres)....

If something in the braking system was f**ked, you should feel it through the pedal as well. Most likely bushes (I've got the same to sort on mine).

I get the same stick at work about mine, but people seem to forget that the two of us doing the most miles have the oldest cars (my L-reg E30 and an L-reg Escort)!! As we've both found, take care of it properly and you'll be fine. The only problems I've had can be traced back to me every time. That ...

The housing has an alloy cap. The MAHLE ones I've used in the past have been type OX91D if that helps.

Just a few service bits
Hi,
Just after a few bits for my '93 316i (M40) Touring. It doesn't have air conditioning.
Set of (4) spark plugs, NGK type
PAS belt, think the part number is 32421757953
Alternator/fan belt, think the part number is 11231717952
An air filter
An oil filter
Cheers,
-Lloyd

Afternoon, That was the same result with realOEM: doesn't exist. Oh well, never mind. To be fair, the iPod wasn't even invented yet when the E30 was new! actually, one other question...
Is there a way of finding out which stereos the iPod interface with part number 65 11 0 392 130 is compatible with? RealOEM isn't much help (mostly interested if it would work with the CD43)

Hi guys, I’ve recently purchased a BMW Business CD (Blaupunkt CD43) radio from Dr Firefly on here and he had misplaced the code so it currently doesn't do a whole lot.
