Re: Well, what a way to end...
He told me that the insurance wont pay out until the car has been collected and is in coparts possession is this correct or a load of bull? When my car was wrecked, it ended up on my drive and didn't move until we had agreed a value on it.. Then Co Part came and collected it. I guess each insurer i...

You haven't, your speedo is f*cked if you think you're going 140. Probably being overtaken by 150mph Daewoo Matiz's.ImysE30 wrote:I've definitely had it at over 125, on several occasions easily

Even with an M30 Turbo it will only just go over 140mph on the longest stretch of straight road you could imagine.

yes E30s are nice but they've got the aerodynamics of Pat Butcher.

Re: Scuttle shake - can it be reduced?
Also, convertible top speeds are lower so you'd have an ever tougher time getting to that point. Not true. I'm no expert but a quick bit of research to look at standard 325 stats, the convertibles top speed is lower. All of this 'but I've seen it and so has he' is hardly proof, especially using a s...

A stardard 2.5 will really struggle to reach 140mph, any guru out there have the figures? 140 on the speedo, as Dezzy said, is not actually 140.

How is that cynical? I think most sane people on here would agree that you have never achieved 140mph in a 'chipped' 320i.....ImysE30 wrote:So cynical.....Ian_M wrote:

I think it was the title in all capitals and the general way you worded sentences, I can see where he is coming from. Sorry.
As I said though, as you're 31 it matters not. Just wish I could insure one for more of a reasonable cost price. What is your insurance on one of these out of interest?

He didn't exactly have much else to go on and to be honest, I went on your writing style as well... No offence.
I'm 23 myself and the insurance is retarded, the difference between this and my CTR is over double.
As you're 31 I guess it's all good.

Re: Why are e36's so worthless
I see the E30 exclusive bummers are using the straw man argument by posting pictures of E36s that deserve a place on Barry Boys. I can't understand the concept of 'It's not an E30 so it's <Insert unfounded comment here>', you sound a lot like a religous cult. As for someone driving an E30 'cos they ...

No, I'm not missing the point, I get 'old school' but what does something have to do to qualify... Just be of a certain age? Of a certain era? Specific style?
Does something get so old it goes past 'old school'? I'm just curious as to what everyone thinks.

Re: Why are e36's so worthless
How old is 'old school'? Is there a check-list somewhere? What criteria must be met to qualify? Seeing as some of the oldest E36s are the same age as some of the youngest E30s do they count? In 10 years time will people be going, 'Nah, don't like the E46, it's all about the old school..... E36 all t...

I've never owned a car that has had more than 2 doors. I'm calling bullshit. I swear you owned a Ford Puma :D ford puma = 2dr  Technically it's a 3dr! :) You can gain access to the car through the boot unlike an E30 (I may be wrong about the E30 bit, one of the boffins will correct me).
