My only problem now is that some how I have bumped the speedo needle such that it reads approx 20 km/h slower, you can see this by where it now sits very low down on the dial. I assume there is some sort of adjustment but would appreciate any tips if anyone know's what I've managed to move by accide...

I finally performed this fix and works great and really not a difficult job (except for see below). I ended up getting the three gears locally for $60 including postage from neic@bigpond.com. Another guy who was very helpful was contact@ottoinstruments.com.au. FYI I've added a some before and after ...

Re: fuel gadge f*** about
Lift up the rear seat cushion and pull out a multi pin plug and socket from under the steel tube on the right hand side. Switch on the ignition, and use a piece of wire to short the brown/green wire to earth. If the fuel gauge goes to full, the problem is the sender. Ok, many thanks for this respon...

Re: fuel gadge f*** about
I also have this fuel gauge problem. I checked the solder joints and cleaned up the connections and tightened the nuts on the fuel and temp gauges due ot intermittent working. The temp gauge now works fine but the fuel guage is now completely dead. I tested the continuity between the board and the f...

I'm very jealous that you are able to drive on the Nurburgring. Also sounds like we all have degrees in industrial chemistry ;) Personally I don't track my car and the aluminium epoxy fix has never leaked in approx five years. The last time the fix failed was when I scraped the sump again. The Al ep...

Remember we are only talking about a very fine crack/scrape here where the oil seeps out over a number of days to weeks not in a catastrophic momment and simply topping it up is enough to get you going safely. Only a git would try to patch a gaping whole. I don't think we are referring to that. My e...

Re:
I have had my car for about 12 years and have had to perform this fix on three occassions due to the sump scraping. Otherwise it is a very reliable fix and as I said as good as new until you scrape the sump again. As long as you drain the oil and make sure the site is clean and the surface rough the...

I was searching rear subframe mount and came across this cracked sump post. Just for future reference, it is very easy to drain the oil clean up the crack and seal it with aluminium epoxy. It works great until you scrape the stuff off again in which case you probably would have cracked your sump aga...

Pulled out the instrument panel the other day and took the cover off the back. The 12 tooth gear had broke in half and the I think 48/12 tooth was missing a few teeth. These gears drive the odometer and trip meter. Gears were very easy to source locally from a number of suppliers and replacement is ...

Re:
I have this exact problem, speedo works but odometer and trip meter does not. I will be following up on the comments but would appreciate any further information that anyone might have before I pull the instrument cluster out. Having not seen the back of it before or inside it I am not sure what I w...
