Re:
For me it's when driving up and down the motorway and you pass new cars broken down on the side off the road. The reliability just seems great and after every long journey it just gives me more and more confidence in it as it's never broken down.

I wouldn't worry about it. My 316i has always done that too. The fuel gauge always seems to go down a lot quicker between between the half mark and the quarter mark. I haven't a clue why but I know the car is fine as it alway does around 330 miles (give or take) to a full tank and I've owned it four...

Bicyle racks
This got asked last year by someone else however no one answered but I'll ask it again. Does anybody know of a bike rack that will fit on the back of an e30 rather than the bike racks which go on the roof? Halfords seem to be clueless. Thanks

Re:
you get a build up of pink or blue coloured dry powdery gunk around the seals (dependant on the colour of your anti freeze)and water leaks if you change the matrix the only way it will come out is by moving the servo/master cylinder bolts all the glove box bits and the 2 pipes are a pig (hard to ge...

Heater Matrix
My heater matrix is leaking. I can't really afford to take it to a garage just before christmas and may have a go at replacing it myself. I've sourced a cheap working 2nd hand one from Emrays in Norfolk. How difficult/fiddly is it to do and any hints or tips?
Thanks
Thanks

Water usage
My 316i is using lots of water. Put in about 1.5 litres two days ago and today needed topping up again with around 1.5 litres (ish) of water. No signs of water in the oil and doesn't seem to be leaking water. It had a new water pump around the 100k mile mark and 25k miles ago it had a new radiator. ...

Fuel ecomony gauge
Every now and again my fuel ecomony gauge below the rev counter stops working whist driving. Sometimes (not always) when it stops working the engine seems to momentarilly cut out for a second. This isn't a major issue but it does affect the read out on the computer for mpg. Any ideas what it could b...

Re:
As a 316i owner I agree with mRLEE30. Spend your cash on making it look smart but subtle especially if the body work is in mint condition. Just keep it well serviced and it'll be fine. Mines now touching 150k and still pulls strong. They are pretty slow but who cares, at the end of the day it's stil...

Yet again another OBC question
Fitted a OBC today and it all works fine apart from the outside temp reading. I used to have the 6 button computer in my car so I left in the original temp sensor and wires and just connected it to the new wiring loom. Now the computer says that the outside temp is 75.5 C! I know its connected as wh...

obc questions...again!
I have been given a obc but require the loom and relay module (if anyone has these bits for sale?). My car already has the 6 button computer thing installed as standard. Can I use the relay module and temp sensor from the 6 button computer?

I've had my 316i just short of 115 mph in the past. It could be the cam on its way out if your car also suffers from some of these symptoms mentioned in this link :-http://www.bmwe30.net/cgi-bin/datacgi/d ... Section=08

I've got a 1991 316i lux and its a great little car even if its really slow!! Owned it now for 3 years and driven 50000miles in it. It's never broke or let me down dispite now having the usual suspect shagged cam wear rattle. It's now on 140630 miles and last week pasted its mot without anything nee...
