propshafts- all the same?

Hi, painting my engine bay so gearbox and engine are out and have discovered the centre bearing on the propshaft is fubar. :(
My car is a '90 318is.
I have a full propshaft from a '86 323i in good nick.
Can I do a straight swap or will the length/balance be wrong?
Any advice, thanks.

Re: Type of paint

2K is as it says....a mixture of 2 parts....a paint, and a hardner/activator If you check with any bodyshop/paint supplier they'll be able to supply details on mixing ratio's etc.... as a guide...VRS (not sure if there's one near you) supply most paint for around £40/litre.... you then normally m...

I've been on that site, seems good but still unsure what paint is best to use, given I'm doing it in my own garage.

Use 2K primers and topcoats...more durable! Don't want to sound stupid, but I'm going to, when you say 2K what exactly is that? Haynes manual bangs on about acylic this and that, enamel, super dupper enamal, paint your car and make you beautiful enamel, take you home and make you breakfast enamel a...

rusty boot problem

Had a search of the forum and realise that is not unusual. In mine the battery box and what I would call the rear valance has obviously be filled with plastic filler. It has now rusted through only a small amount thankfully. What I thought was to grind out the bad stuff and get a plate welded in and...

Rubbing strips

Would E36 M3 rubbing strips fit E30? Fancied removing them completely but is expensive to fill holes and paint. Thought if I put E36 style on and colour coded might be easier/better option. Have seen it done on the autovogue site and thought it looked well. Ant thoughts?

If you try the stud extractors but ruin the thread then you could try the helicoil kit to repair the head, only cost...

Have a 318is with the engine bay covered in some sort of wax coating. I believe its the original coating used by BMW. Can anyone tell me what exactly it is and how do you remove it?
