Re: S50 into e36 318i running problems

I have just done a little research on the speed sensor wire and it seems that some need it and some don't.

Does anyone know the symptoms of a motor that needs a speed signal?

Re: S50 into e36 318i running problems

Hi, How do i know if i have the lmbda's plugged into the correct pipes? It is deffinately the correct air flow meter because it all came out of this car originally, basically i bought an e36 m3 with a roll cage and no wiring loom so i scrapped a 318i auto and fit the wiring loom from that into the m3.

S50 into e36 318i running problems

Basically i have an s50b30 plugged into an e36 318i wiring loom in my e36 rally car. I know this is not an e30 but you guys are the most experienced at fitting s50's in strange places! :D I am having a few teething problems with my engine though, Firstly the idle is not smooth at all, i put it down ...

I thought it may have been you!

I didn't know he had done anything to it, all i know is that it was rust free which is a novalty for an e30 these days! :D

Re: Is there a 325ix sport?

Old thread but that 325ix has come up for sale so i thought i would show you. I went to see it last year and its absolutely stunning! I could only find one small circle of surface rust in the engine bay and the rest of the car was mint! http://www.jerseyinsight.com/classified_1.aspx?id4=0:11433&id4=...

S50B30 Wiring

I am currently Wiring my s50b30 engine into a 318i (e36) wiring loom, it all fits together fine but the engine loom connector has a lot more pins than the body loom connector, does anyone have a list of what each pin in the engine loom connector does?

Thanks! :D

No it is a rally car, i already have like a 7-1 pedal ratio, will a smaller m/c make as much difference as a servo? the pedal is rock solid at the mo!

Re: Golf servo's all the same??

It looks like 36's have different bolt patterns to the e30, my e36 has 65mm between the 4 bulkhead studs but the e30 has 75mm....

Anyone got any other options for me?

Re: Golf servo's all the same??

Haha, the cage comes with a warning that your servo will probably not fit, most people use bias pedal boxes and 6 pots but i can't afford that yet!

What year is the plastic wing clio? does anyone have an accurate measurement of the servo?

Golf servo's all the same??

I am trying to find a smaller servo for my e36 m3 because i have a cage fitted that goes through to the strutts and now the m3 servo fouls the cage. I know you guys say a mk2 golf servo will bolt straight in to an e30 but i am worried that the master cylinder won't be upto the challenge of running m...

All i did to resolve the problem is move the steering rack about 5mm to the right, because of the nature of the rack it does not affect the steering but you will have to re track the steering.

The standard Type 9 has a very very short 1st gear (3.71 iirc), then it bogs down in second to 2.something no good for hill climbing whatsoever! :(

Idealy you need a tran-x rally gearkit and a 5.1 cwp then you will have a usable setup with 200bhp but you are looking at spending atleast 6k

Hello mate, basically you have 2 master cylinders, one for the front brakes and one for the rear brakes, these are both pushed by the one pedal but with a balance bar to transfer the force from the one pedal to the 2 master cylinders. The reason you do this is so you can adjust your front/rear braki...

Re: 325i..... love it....!!

This is the problem though mate, you need a facelift rad, viscous, crossover pipe and hoses in order to get the job done properly. The pre facelift rad simply does not fit in a facelift car. The only other option is as i suggested and get an electric fan and get rid of the viscous completely. This i...

Re: 325i..... love it....!!

If you are only gonna get a couple of hundred quid for your 320i Nathan use it as a spares car, there are loads of bits on it you can use. For one you can get the rad and viscous off it. Plus if you are gonna fit a facelift rad you need to get the facelift crossover pipe from the front of the engine...

Re: 325i..... love it....!!

There is nothing wrong with the gearbox mate, as i said to you it is the z3 quickshift that makes the gearchange notchy.

If you fit a standard shifter and refit the vibration dampener you will probably sort those 2 problems out.
