The difference is the EWS I think, possibly also OBD1 vs OBD2 - worth reading up about both. I'm no expert, but re-doing an M50'd E28 atm.

An off the shelf locked diff maybe, but a diff you welded up in your shed, pull the other one No offense, but that comment is incredibly stupid. Yes, a diff with a tiny bit of weld thrown in is dangerous, as it's liable to break and lock, that is common sene. If it is done properly (regularly peopl...

Re: Welded diffs - VOSA clarification

I've declared a welded diff to the insurance company on every car I've insured with one fitted. I've been with Adrian Flux in the past, and am presently with Sky Insurance - who (when they read it back from their file had it under 'transmission changes' specifying 'locked rear differential'. OOOF, love that wheel above! To do that you'd have to do the centre of the spokes on your alloy polished, and the edge/lip, but the rest red. Solid red would look just too much.

I'd go with the above layout, but paint the spokes and lip black, the the rest hot pink :D

Spadge, its a fact that they'll make drive differently, yes, but being dangerous? Nah. Ok, so that stretch is OTT as said, but stretch as a whole isn't.

Dave, its ALL about how it looks :D most people on here wouldn't have an E30 as low as mine, and yet I want mine lower. Go figure!

M42 engine mount length?!

Thats it, very, very simple, how tall are the stock engine mounts with an engine on/with it off?

Roughly measuring mine, they were about 65mm, but that seems taller than I'd expect!

Thanks!

We did replace that, but I think it must have twisted slightly when putting it back together. Ok, I'llg et that sorted ASAP. To get a replacement, do I just order a 'profile gasket'? GSF don't appear to do them, and I'm suspecting they only come in the HG set don't they? Thanks guys, nice to know wh...

So by profile gasket, you mean the headgasket itself? Couldn't be, I dunno, the timing chain cover gasket or something cimple?

This sounds fun!

Bend it back in, hammer it flush and roll the arches slightly (heatgun on paint and hammer/coke bottle/scaffold bar)

It is definitely being caused by the tyre.

This is getting frustrating now! We did my headgasket back in January because I was getting water in the oil, and I thought there was the sweet smell of burning antifreeze... Front valance would be fine - normal bonnet and non smoothed rear valance and you'd be fine tbh. It'd look low and dark and mean and wide and simple.

Just wondering, if you want to muller them at a drift day, why do you specifically want 15's? I know the 14" steels fit over standard rear discs (as I have them on mine), or are you thinking long term and you want them banded and as the replacement all-round car wheels?

Joshy, man, has the lack of TD gone to your head? Waaaay off course! Fitting coilovers to E30's doesn't require but one would recommend re-inforcing the rear turrets - they're not designed to take that pressure and can rip out. Therefore the cost of the coilovers plus needed work dictates they are r...
