E30 Parts Clearout
Hi, After a fair few years and a couple of E30s and E34s i'm trying to clear out the garage and have a few E30 bits that I have gathered over the years. Based in Huddersfield but happy for you to arrange a courier for the bulkier items or post smaller ones. The bits that I have are: Brilliant Red wi...

Re: Advice please... E34 or not?
I have a 525i E34 (M50TuB25) as a daily and love it. They do seem to have an appetite for suspension parts, but probably a combination of a heavy car and all the pot holes where I live. I have always used it as my only car and have often traveled 200+ miles a week in it with no worries. The fuel eco...

Well done. I saw this as well looks like the perfect daily workhorse- especially as you have plenty of other cars if you want to go a little faster. Nice colour too.

New Bonnet Badge
Where do people get their bonnet badges from? mine is now silver/blue where the white has flaked off.
Its an E34 but I assume the answer will be same as for E30s, are the dealer badges decent any more?
Cheers!

Re: E34
I've got a 525i touring from DanThe on here and am very pleased with it. the 540 seem a bit thin on the ground and are sought after so I guess it all depends on what you want it for and what you want to pay for it. The touring is great - watch out for tailgate wiring, sills rust, double sunroof fail...

Re: painting rubber heckspoiler
Best to leave it as black rubber if it's nice from my experience. I did paint one with plastic primer to give it some flex and then satin black on top. My previous attempt ended up split and cracked though.

Re: imperial tyres on metric wheels?
From what I know the Metrics have a different bead on the wheel/tyre as they were an early form of run flats. Normal imperial tyres are not compatible with the wheel. Only tyres that fit are Metrics and they are new old stock as far as I am aware. Expensive for old rubber.

E34 Winter Tyres
Hi, Do any of you run winters on your e34? i'm getting some 15" bbs and thought I may as well go for some winter rubber as its getting a bit chilly. The manual lists 205/65/15 for the touring 525i but someone has suggested 195/65/15 and they are about £40 a tyre cheaper! - my only concern is that it...

Thinking of changing from e30 to e34 any advice?
Hi, I'm thinking that my e30 (325i moordoor) is probably coming to and end - it's been a good car and owes me nothing so not so bad. Having 2 kids and needing the extra room I'm looking at e34 tourings. Just wondering how they relate to the e30 as a daily? Am I right to look for a 525 in an m50 for ...

Hi, I have a g reg not so brilliant red moordoor and have lacquer peel on one of the wings and what looks like some lacquer over spray on an old repair on the rear quarter. Only just enough electricity

This happened yesterday when turning on full beam. It seems to recover itself but is annoying. Sometimes ...

Re: Water pump pulley wobble
All sorted now. Took it out again last night, cleaned everything off again an put on a new gasket from bmw. The bmw gasket was alot thicker than the one that came with the pump. I guess the moral of the story is to use decent gaskets in the first place!

I've taken the Cambelt tensioner out as I remembered reading on here that it was only used for new belt tensioning. I've cleaned up the block yeah, I'll have to track down a new gasket and try again. I've replaced the water pump - along with the inlet manifold gaskets (which is another story) this weekend, now all is good, the car is running really well... Anyone got a clue as to how I get the injector electrical rail separate from the inlet manifold? There is a wire that goes from a connector on the opposite side of the mani from the injectors through the manifold and it won't budge!

Water pump pulley wobble
Hi Along with some other problems my 325i has developed a wobble on the water pump pulley. It doesn't look too major but you can see it wobble when running the engine. Does anyone know if this is a fairly straight forward job of replacing the water pump and all is good? The existing pump has only be...

Re: To colour code rubber boot spoiler or not
I had an se spoiler that had cracked and flaking paint. I stripped it back to the rubber but then had to fill it and sand it due to little nicks in the rubber. Then plastic primer and painted it.... then it cracked again. So i've stripped it again.... just waiting to paint it again I have a feeling ...

all i've been able to work out is that if i spray some carb cleaner around the injector the idle rises and the engine runs smooth for a few seconds rather than lumpy. Re: Possible inlet Manifold leak?
So I've finally got around to some attacking with carb cleaner and it seems like the leak is from the injector nearest the firewall. Does that make sense with the symptoms? Is it a case of removing the inlet manifold to get to them and are there any other things I should replace while I'm at it? So ...

Re: Possible inlet Manifold leak?
So I've had a poke around today and tried to trace the leak some more, took off the throttle body to get better access to the engine but still I have made no progress. I've tried to listen through a pipe again and it almost sounds like its coming from the plastic rail by the injectors on cyl 5?( 2nd...
