Re: Going rate for 318is suspension setup

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I've got some for sale from my crashed 318is and wasn't sure how much to ask for them? I'm just looking to sell them on cheap but want to get some idea of what they are worth second hand.

Ah right, that picture has made the penny drop I think, I was messing with the hub end and not the metal tube. I ended up going out and getting another car yesterday so the bimmer is on hold for a few days. I need to catch up with all the work I didn't do last week when fixing the cars!

Rear trailing arm assembly and handbrake cable!

I'm removing the rear trailing arm assembly to put onto my other shell along with new bushes and suspension. Excuse the rant, just copied it from another forum I'm on, thought someone here might be able to help? Basically I can't get the handbrake cable out from its conduit. It wont budge at all and...

e36 steering rack onto e30 - metal pipe bending??

I've got an e36 steering rack but I don't have the e36 metal pipes as thats where its been cut off the car. Is it realistic to try and bend the 318is or 320 pipes to fit the e36 rack that come in at different angles? Has anyone done this without kinking them? I've got a spare rack to try it on but w...

Powerflex bush fitting advice needed ASAP!

Hi, I'm fitting powerflex bushes at the mo. I'm doing the front ones on the rear of the arm. I've chisselled out the rubber inner and I'm left with the metal ring inside the cast part. Does this metal ring need to come off as well? it looks like it does but I was afraid to start smashing it getting ...

Bimmers seem to be a bugger for bleeding the cooling. I had the same problem when I changed the water pump on my e34 last year. Took me ages to get it fully bled, I had to keep doing it for a couple of days to really sort it, it was as if air was getting stuck in the block and working its way round?

Electrical loom advice

Hi, I've just removed the loom from my 318is and put it into the 320 shell. There are two relays ( and a third empty socket) that sit up near the windscreen on the loom. I've guessed that they may be the main (DMU?) and fuel pump relay as they look similar to my e34 ones (!) but not sure. Anyhow the...

Thanks Brian your a star! Thats the ABS thing sorted!! I've got a powerflex full bush kit so hopefully should have everything there. First question as its something I need to look at today! The 318is has disc rear brakes and the 320 just has drums. Does anyone know how much work is involved to transfer the 318is discs to the 320 shell? I've got a brake pipe tool here somewhere. Also a novice question - if the car has ABS , how ca...

Stripped the 318is ready to remove the engine, exhaust, ancils, loom etc are mostly off. Note the Haynes manual which general...
