I have seen a couple of red 318iS in Dublin with this interior (one had the ugly digital clock + blaupunkt stereo + flat battery, the other had 17" alpina replicas... don't know why I remember this ...! ) I think it might have been called M Tec 2 or M Tec 3 interior - though I'm open to correction o...

There is a K&N kit you can buy that has the correct oil to use on the filter. I washed my filter out with warm water, left it to dry, and re oiled it using the k&n oil

ignition lock broken & need to move my car asap

My ignition lock has seemingly broken, leaving me unable to turn the key past position 1 (steering lock off, radio + indicators still working) I have the 2 original keys, and the problem presents with both keys. If I can get the ignition lock out, is there a way to start the car with no replacement ...

Re: E30 318is front shocks

They'll fit OK - if its an original 318iS it used the same struts as a 325i

The hardness of the ride has more to do with the springs (and to a lesser extent the valving of the shocks)

If you used 325i springs the ride would be a bit harder alright

solid violet - as per the wiring diagram linked above

even though the diagram is for a US pre facelift 325e and mine is a UK 318is, that part of the loom seems to use the same wire colours - I guess yours should be the same too

tapping the fusebox lid initially worked for me - but as you say, only temporarily. I feared it was a cracked solder joint. Turned out to be a simple loose wire. Make sure you disconnect the WIRE and reconnect it to its receiving pin, not just push home the 8-pin connector onto the circuit board fro...

That sounds exactly the same as my brothers 325 touring. The wipers, indicators and brake lights will stop working, tap on the relays in the fuse box and it all stars working again. Any ideas people. A bit annoying when its raining and the wipers pack in! Disconnect battery, remove fusebox lid, rem...

I had a similar problem some time ago - Indicators, horn, wipers and brake lights all ceased functioning at the same time, and all came back to life at the same time Traced it to an 8 pin connector on the underside of the fusebox circuit board - the pin was seated fully home, but the wire in the pin...

Re: e30 alloy wheels offset??

offset should be et24, et30 will fit, but they might rub on full steering lock, any chance you could test fit them first?

205 / 55 are factory spec for 7J 15" rims, but many use 205/50 for a little extra stiffness.

I think 205 / 55 is spot on for 40mm drop, fills the archs just right
