Re:
Just a thought, when i first start my car it idles at the same speed as it does when it's warm. So when you go to pull away etc it splutters and generally don't like it. Could this be the temp sensor or something? I have heard if these go then it can give incorrect signals to your ecu and cause bad ...

Re: Is it just me?
well i did a run from my house to london and back the other day, turned out to be about 180 miles round trip, but i suppose alot of that was heavy traffic, which isn't good. Now i think about it it was worse on fuel on the way there when the traffic was really bad than it was on the way back. I dunn...

New wheels.
Have just fitted some new wheels and noticed there isn't alot of clearance between the inside of the wheel and the strutt, but they don't seem to rub so i thought i was alright. Drove it around abit on Tuesday and apart from wheel wobble there was no rubbing. So i took it in yesterday to get a coupl...

Should really give it a clean but seems like such a waste of time in this weather Black cars can look so good when cleaned up properly  Very true, looks the nuts when it's been washed and polished. May get on that tomorrow actually as i have the day off work. It's just so annoying when you cl...

Made a few changes to the beemer. Smartened up the front end abit but best of all got myself a set of wheels. Some Borbet C's 17x7.5j 8) Also got a subtle lip spoiler. I'm well pleased with how it looks! http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q113/raf16_2007/DSC_0266.jpg http://i134.photobucket.com/albu...

Re: Borbet C's
yours may be a funny offset tho from a VW. put em on and see :D Yeah i had thought that. I have a mk1 golf and i put one of the wheels from that on to the beemer just out of interest and bordom and it was just rubbing on the strutt, and they were 7j so i am thinking i'll need abit of a spacer. Hope...

So assuming yours are 7.5" wide, did you need a spacer? Is your car lowered? And did you need to roll your arches?

Re: MOT (seriously pissed off)
Had exactly this problem (though I didn't pay a garage for it) when a little black clip on the adjuster had died - meant that the adjustor was loose and within a few minutes it just spun down and left a load of slack again. Really frustrating. Felt fine when you tensioned it, but just slackened off...

Re: MOT (seriously pissed off)
I dunno, i have done handbrakes myself before and could understand if he said the cable was seized or the adjuster screwed but the fact he said 'It was working beautifully when we put it back together' then when they moved it the few meters into the test bay it's not working again. I can't understan...

Borbet C's
A mate of mine has a set of (what i believe are) Borbet C's. They are 6 spoke, 17"x7.5j. Don't know much about them though and can't find any information on them. Says i can have them for £150 which i think is cheap and has given them to me to try out but i havn't had a chance to try them on the c...

Re: Changing sump
That'll be the gearbox on the bulkhead. Try loosening the gearbox mount and jacking up the front at the same time to let the front of the engine twist. Might be best to use the trolley jack on the gearbox, undo the mount, lower the gearbox slowly (engine will tilt on it's mounts) keeping an eye on ...

Re: Changing sump
? wait a minute, if it's a m40 its easy, i did it and there are 3 steps that you have to remember, if you skip one you cannot get the job done. 1. Unscrew the bolts 2. Change oil pan 3. Screw bolts Pah, did you do the top and bottom parts of the sump? If you did both parts that easily you are some ...

Re: Changing sump
Ok getting real annoyed with this now. Can't really work out why but it means that i can't quite get the sum...

Re: Changing sump
Yeah was thinking of just undoing it from another place and leaving that mount alone but my problem then is that that mount is a little loose now and i cant tighten it cause the stud just spins. only think i can think of doing is jacking up the engine to take up that bit of loosness so theres alot o...

What can i do? Nothing ever works does ...

Re: Changing sump
I'm down in kent unfortunatly. So theres no other way of doing it than raising the engine or lowering the subframe. I was looking at it today trying to weigh up what to do and was gonna try lowering the subframe but it was starting to get dark. How/how hard is it to do? I'm pretty good with the span...
