Re: Couple of FI questions, manifold and oil feed
Do you know if anyone else on here is/has used one? I do see people on here using pretty understated cast manifolds, always wondered if they were an oem BMW item.

I gotta warn you from previous experience, that Exotic will crack at the flange if you dont custom a brace support on it to take the weight.
Deffo interested in the stock bimmer one, do people use these then?

Only ones i can find are XS Power, and i know theyre much better than they used to be but...still. Also oil feed, what have the turbo chaps done about the feed and drain? Assuming youve just modif...

Re: Idling problem, info on ICV needed.
The Oil Cap thingy........ When the engine is on idle, take off the oil filler cap. If the revs drop and it starts to hunt a bit, then this is a good sign that there are no air/vacum leaks in the intake system. If nothing happens, then this is a sign that there is an air leak somewhere...... Oddly,...

Tried spraying carb cleaneraround the intake parts, again nothing, no leaks. Took it for a drive and its now all good stranegly. If it does start again ill try the oil cap thing. It has very good compression.

Hey chaps Cars running beautifully now, except once in a while it hunts at idle between 500 and 1500 revs. If i disconnect the idle control valve it stops and idles perfectly albeit at 1200rpm. Ive replaced the whole ignition system(just for service reasons) all fluids , the afm to throttle boot, cl...

What should it be idling at, and how does it work.
Hey guys
Just so i can work out what im dealing with. What should a 1987 325i idle at when cold, and once warm? Also what decides what it should idle at, , does the idle control valve mainly work when cold?

Thanks, tried searching but i cant find any threads with the same problem, only ones where the fan only works when switched to setting 4(full) which is a knackered heater blower resistor pack.

Re: Vtec in an e30?
what makes an e30 is its handling, standard e30 lumps are slow and outdated. nothing wrong with sticking a modern lump in an antiquated car. If you mean a weezy, high revvy, no torque multi-valve engine I'd rather have my M20 thanks! ...my Corolla is just that - it's no where near as much fu...

Re: Failed MOT on.....Horn and handbrake!
Thanks mate :) Went out to check, the heater blower fuse was broken, replaced it and still nothing. But now when its turned to setting 4 it makes a chunky kindof click after a couple of seconds, its not the relay clicking its something else behind the dash. As for the horn, very confusing, it works ...

Failed MOT on.....Horn and handbrake! (also heater blower)
How ironic after doing so much to her in the last 3 weeks to get her ready for her first MOT in a long time, to fail on these. Any advice on how to sort the horn would help, i seem to remember the heater blower and horn are on the same fused circuit, but i cant bloody find my manual. Any help on whi...

Slight update: Replaced the sump gasket as it was leaking, also the AFM to throttle boot. Put 15 litres of new fuel in with some injector cleaner. Already done all ignition except leads and she seems much better. Noticed the wire to the oil pressure sensor was very badly thinned, think like one stra...
