Is there a rack from an e36 perhaps a 318ti that comes off at the same angle like the e30 one? ie my e36 rack does not clear my v8s extractors that were designed around the factory e30 rack.cheers That's about the only downside of using the E36/46 rack. May seem bit oot but what we used to do in past with 6cyl engines was leave manifolds on, get your engine hoist find a chain wrap it round centre of inlet and exhaust manifolds. Find a balance point where it will hang at same angle as block and rest is ...........

Always have used brushable seam sealer, but gone over to polyurathane stuff in cartridge, nice and flexible and hard job ever getting it off.

Just to let anyone know in future that e28 wheel bearing hubs really do fit an M3 as have just done it on my own car. however make sure you got a decent puller to get the old abs ring off............

I think its whats known as a "ringer" he says its an "is" but clearly the shell is an m3. love to see the serial numbers off the fenders etc as they all come with ids and find out where the m3 came from? :eek:

Cheap M3 front wheel bearings umm. believe that you can use 5 series and change over the ABS ring..........

How about removing that old barn door type AFM? and fitting MAF hot wire system. works a treat on my S14, had to get kit from States tho. SPLIT SEC was manufacturer......... winkeye

Yup you is right there, it should have been left as lhd, but was a sqweeky clean one so........ this manifolds quite good as it goes with nice gentle curves round the steering, although have seen what birds did omg looked like someone with bandy legs. Thanks for reply.

Z3 Steering rack

Anyone know if the steering stem bit is at same angle on a Z3 rack compared to an e30? reason is have a rhd m3 with normal rack and want a ratio close to the orig lhd one. got an e36 rack but the stem comes out of rack at a different angle to the e30 and things are well tight around exhaust manifold...

Went through this one myself, got a chip from guy in birmingham (chippeduk) seems he used a map from a usa chip and sadly they do not work over here in uk, in fact he swore blind that I had damaged the chip! after a few months he changed his advert on ebay. saying dont confuse these chips with ameri...

Sounds a bit of a mechanical problem rather than electrical one, as would agree that for starter to spin the soleniod would have had to make the contact?
