Re: GEARBOX UPGRADE ??

This mention of an E36 gearbox that fits onto a 2.5. Very interesting. I am wearing out a dogleg close ratio box (no overdrive, 5th is 1:1 ratio) in hillclimbs and will be needing a replacement or rebuild soon. Does anyone know which one it is? Do you have to modify bell housing? Has anyone fitted o...

Re: rear shock mount strengthening

Sorry do not know how much Leda charge as I got replacement bearings from from a local engineering company for about £5-10 each depending on the brand you want.
All you need are the measurements. Have a look in the DemonTweeks or Raceparts catalogues for bearings

Re: rear shock mount strengthening

I have been running Leda suspension with the rosejoints at both ends of the rear coilover since 2000. When I bought the coil overs I sent Leda with a pair of topmounts and they modified then to fit a spherical bearing (rosejoint tm) On the road they are fine, it is only when the bearing has worn out...

Re: New boots!

Used Toyo T1R last season on the hills.
Plenty of grip but more sidewall flex than Yoko A032r, or was it the tread blocks moving, not sure which really but felt like equal grip levels.
Where are you racing?

TAS was Trans Auto Sport, they were due to do a batch of racks, took details but then silence &no response by phone e-mail or post.

I think that they ceased trading

Gearbox choice for 2.7

Help. Does anyone know which gearbxes will fit onto a 2.7 conversion? I have a dogleg box at the moment but 1st 2nd and 3rd are getting a bit crunchy on the changes. Would a 320 box fit or is it 2.5 only? Also does anywhere do recon boxes as too many£Â£Ã‚£Ã‚£Ã‚£ from dealer. Thanks in advance. PS...

The hole closer to the bar is the stiffer setting as less leverage on the transverse section, the further out from the bar you are hte longer the lever effect and hence softer the ARB is.
Hope this helps,

How much of a difference did the rear brace make or did you put both on together? Only using front at the moment

Even wheel arch gaps front & rear always works well.
No idea how much of a drop I'm running prob60 or 65 front & rear, Ledas & race springs, hate speed bumps, hate hate hate them but they do keep the centre exhaust box nice & shiny underneath

Another one for Adrian Flux here.

2.7 stripped (no) interior, roll cage, Ledas, raced at weekends, all mods declared and only 3 times what my wife pays for a 1.1 Fiesta!!

Cone vs panel.
Usual trade off of cold air into airbox & panel vs. engine bay temp air into cone filter
Have tried a pipercross cone & an ITG panel in a factory airbox,
no difference from the driver's seat but maybe something would show on the rollers. Perhaps I got it wrong both times?

I run a 2.7 powered former 320i in sprints & hillclimbs. Weighs about 1030kg stripped out. No lightweight panels. Biggest job was removing the sunroof.

I'm just going to let my ignorance shine out here.
I'm running a 2.7 from Laserchrom, fitted end 2002, superchip, 325 AFM, considering what the next step is and considering MAF & Unichip.
Anyone know where to get this done as it is not exactly a roadside job?
