Converting to electric sunroof
Tried the search function and Wiki. The wiki suggests that you can convert from manual winder opening to electric by just fitting the motor and button. Is it that simple? Anyone done it?

The metal pipe that runs across the front of the engine sometimes rusts out and you get pin hole leaks. Could be that.

Ive got a halfords set, one of the large trays from the professional range. I bought it with a similar deal expecting the ratchets to last about 5 mins. However after repeated abuse, its all going strong. Bargain.

Id also not bother with an electric fan. Get a known good 2nd hand viscous and try that out first. Your does sound a bit past it if it doesnt lock up when its hot.

Unpainted facelift bumpers?
Bought an e30 today that is quite a high spec 325i auto coupe 1988 facelift, but instead of having body coloured bumpers, they are plain unpainted black plastic. Is that from factory or are they bmw replacements that never got to the paint shop?
