Commercial insurance
Anyone know where I can reasonable commercial insurance on my slightly modified 1990 318i touring which I use as a painter and decorator ? My current broker just doubled my premium because I failed to inform them that I had gone over my mileage allowance and had forgotten to inform them ! A sizeable...

Re: 40mm to 60mm made no difference ?
Thanks alot for that.
I bought a £200 gmax kit with shocks for my last 325i and it handled just as well as my previous C22.7 with all that £1,000 plus Alpina monobloc etc etc, so I can attest to GMAX quality.

Re: 40mm to 60mm made no difference ?
BTW, I didn't mix them up and put the same springs back on in error ! The coils on the lower ones are tighter wound at the ends and wider in the middle making them ultimately the same length as the 40mm ones - just pointing that out for interest really ! I never thought of letting them settle though...

40mm to 60mm made no difference ?
Any ideas on this ? I just repl;aced the 40mm springs on my 4cyl touring with 60mm ones from the same company (GMAX) and the front has not moved ? The codings on the springs definately reflect the 40 and 60 codes on the site for the respective drop, so I am wondering what could be the reason. I am s...

Hi Guys,
Anyone know if the propshaft doughnut on this would be the standard one from the 3.5 litre engine that this conversion is based upon ?
Thanks

Re: what are these wheels?
I have a set of King 7J x 15 et12 Alpina copies on my e30 touring with lowered suspension. I had to modify the rear arches slightly to smooth out that strengthener on the inside of the arch/wing; they only have 195's fitted, so I feel Simon is basically right, they are not designed to fit e30's. Min...

Hi Guys,
I have one of these rear parcel shelf blinds, anyone know how to attach the hooks through the head lining at the top of the rear screen ? Are there locator holes already in the c post and if so how do you find them ?
Any help
Thanks

Re: 4 Cyl Touring 60mm drop springs
Nice,
That's about how my touring sits n 40mm springs, but it is always full with my painting and decorating gear. This is why I want to drop the front by another 20mm - to level it up

Re: alpina
I am no expert, but I have a feeling that the very first e30 Alpinas in Germany may have had the 7j x 15 inch versions ? I have a set of copies on my touring and the offset is a bit extreme, I had to do some work to the rear arches even with 195's, but actually I think they look just as good as the ...

4 Cyl Touring 60mm drop springs
Anyone know whether or not a 60mm set of springs for a saloon 4 cyl will give the same ride height on a touring ? Particularly at the front as my touring needs lowering at the front and so far I have not found a cheap set of 60mm springs for the estate, only for the saloon. Thanks anyone who has inf...

You know the trouble for me is that you all take this stuff so seriously. Who cares ? If people want to buy a genuine sport and pay alot for it, why not ? If others don't think they are worth it great ! If like me you enjoy modifying cars, who has the right to criticise me for fitting a sport body k...

I can see why you might want a break after the 332i !! We wouldn't be driving e30's if weren't for 02's; in fact BMW was almost bankrupt, and were saved by the introduction of it's forerunner, the 1502 I think (anyone know)? The engine was used in the e30's almost in its original fo...
